Course Curriculum

10

  • It depends on the course; for some theoretical courses, it's changed every year, but for some courses, the syllabus changes every year. So overall it's updated.
  • I have been working on a research project with professors. Industrial exposure is provided to co-op students. But even without that, if you have good experience back in your country, you can find multiple opportunities.
  • Timings could be any time, and for master's you would have a maximum of 6 lectures a week. that can vary per course. but 1.5 hours of lecture and 2 lectures per week for a course.
  • Depends on the course; one could have 200, another could have 20. All depends on the course you choose.

Admission Experience

  • I chose the University of Waterloo because of its reputation. my overall experience here has been awesome.
  • It depends from course to course. No GRE is required. Only English test results.

Faculty

10

  • Not aware of this... Varies from department to department. But they are enough. Far far better ratio than Indian colleges.

Campus Life

10

  • I think there is only one campus here at Waterloo. It's gigantic. Infrastructure is the best you could possibly get.
  • Extra-curricular activities happening all the time, all the days... But as the university itself is so big, you wouldn't know all the things all the time. So it's up to the student's interest. But one thing I can assure you is, no matter what your interest is, you can find activities related to that.
  • Sports and Gym are very good. They have olympic level swimming pool and other sports are good as well. All facilities are included in fees.
  • They have 2 libraries and in every building (there are 15-20 buildings) you can find study spaces. Libraries are very huge... One dedicated library is of 10 floors. so enough resources. Online library is there. You can access every journal, conference and publication online.
  • Research facilities are one of the best in canada and might be among the very best in the world.

Part Time Jobs

  • You can work as many hours as you want on campus. For off-campus jobs it's a 22 hours limit. That was hard to find but now it has been bit easier. On-campus good jobs are difficult to get but jobs in food services are a bit easier. Students can secure TA, RA all depends on them and the department.

Placement

10

  • According to this job market, it's tough and I am not aware of the number.
  • Avg salary should be 80-100K CAD.
  • There's no campus recruitment; we need to find the job through networking and online job portals.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • I had a friend who was studying at the same university so I found the accommodation off-campus through him. I am paying 500 CAD for sharing a master bedroom. Utilities were about 50-60 CAD. And 15 dollars for wifi.

Exams

  • Statement of purpose, English test exams (IELTS/TOEFL/etc.), LORs... Varies from course to course.

Fees

  • 48-56000 CADs
