  • University of Calgary offers MEng in Biomedical Engineering with a duration of 18 months.
  • This course is offered on a full-time and thesis-based.
  • The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program MEng degree offers a focus on research that prepares graduates for work in the industry, academia, or government. 
  • This course consists of six required courses and four electives.
  • The degree is part of an interdisciplinary program aimed at students with backgrounds in areas such as engineering, kinesiology, physical sciences, medicine, or life sciences. 
  • Students gain hands-on experience at various active university and hospital-based research centres.

  • Core Courses: A foundation course and two courses in biomedical engineering research, ethics, careers, research skills or other areas.

  • Additional Required Courses: Required courses include clinical trials and manufacturing, project management and health economics.
  • A master’s degree in biomedical engineering is usually considered a final degree and is not admissible for entry into a PhD program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-years) from a recognized institution or an equivalent degree from the university.
  • The related fields include a UG degree in Mathematics, Social Science, Statistics, History of Economics, Political Economy.
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of an undergraduate degree.

Work Experience Eligibility:

  • Students may also be considered who have good research work.
  • For the thesis-based Master's program, admission is offered based upon publications, participation in research projects, and academic awards.
  • It typically takes two years to complete, with a maximum of four years.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
  • Or,  completed a 3-year Bachelor's Degree must hold a Master's Degree.
  • Or, have a CGPA of 8/10 (or 7.5/10 for IIT's only).

Submission of GRE scores is compulsory for this program, and it is recommended to submit the scores (minimum 300) for better a chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

  • Two Letter of Reference: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.

  • Writing Sample: Students applying for a job, internship, may be asked to provide a writing sample that allows an employer or graduate program to judge student ability to convey a written message.

To be eligible for admission to the MSc in Data Science program at the University of Calgary, you must have a four-year bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution. And if English is not your first lamguage, a valid ELP test score is necessary.

You can apply for the M.Eng Chemical and Petroleum Engineering proghram of the University of Calgary if you have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree in chemical or petroleum engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0. You must submit your official transcripts as well as a copy of your cetificate. International students must also submit a valid ELP test score unless eligible for exemption.

is masters in international relations availaible in UOC? for those who had bacholers in english honours of 3 years and passed 12th with 81 % and also have english and french language proficiency ?

The University of Calgary offers Masters programs in various academic disciplines. However, the university does not offer masters program in International Relations.
