Likes
- My supervising professor Prof. Eugene Syriani and the project on which I was working are the main reason for choosing this University. The topic inclines with my area of interest and hence I choose this univeristy.
- University Of Montreal is one of the most premier institutes in Canada for ML Research. The diversity of the college is the most attractive part, people from around the world sharing the experience both professional and personal helps me grow myself. My Research Group deals with Model Driven Engineering and it is the best research group in country in this domain.
Dislikes
- The only problem is that this is a French University so it's a bit hard for anglophones to manage but its still easily manageable. Most of the things can be converted using Google Translate and most of Graduate Courses are either bilingual or have an English version.
Required Exams for Admission
Well my overall experience so far is amazing. I learnt a lot and my Research areas are now more clear. I would say this experience not only tech me professionally but also helps me grow personally. People from various culture and experience share their life and it is always amazing to listen their stories.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is indeed based on cutting edge technologies and Research. Also I got intense exposure on conducting Research, Writing Papers etc.
Faculty
The Faculty is extremely qualified and experienced most of the courses have TA to solve your doubts and you can even book sessions directly with professors to discuss your problems. Not only faculty but even the admin staff i very helpful and easily accessible. I would like to mention Prof. Eugene Syriani and Prof. Bang Liu as a person whom I admire because of their attitude and excellence.
Campus Life
The university is very large in terms of Campus Area, Departments and People and it is 4th best university in Canada. We have all the facilities like, WiFi, Sports Complex, Data Center and Compute Clusters and access to Student Dorms. It has multiple societies and clubs that organise multiple events constantly.
Placement
Post study research opportunity is widely available as this is a research university but also university organises Job fairs and getting a job is generally easy but it is very dynamic to predict that because of several factors like Financial status of country and company etc.
Accommodation
The accommodation is a bit problematic as the Student Dorm's are generally filled due to large volume of students but we can easily find accommodation nearby University in good budget.
Exams
There is no mandatory Exams but I gave the IELTS exam and my band was 7.5 overall. I did submitted CV and SOP. The most important factor is to tell them about your holistic experience including both academics and extra curricular and tell them your motivation of choosing the program and what drives you to study at that University. No, I already was an Research Intern at the University in Summer of 2022 and the professor their wanted me to continue work on the project as a Master's Thesis.

30000 CAD.
Scholarship
I received few scholarships, first one is Mitacs Globalink Graduate Fellowship for 15000 CAD it is only given to Mitacs Globalink Research Inters. The other one was given by my supervising professor for 18000 CAD/year and also one scholarship from University which is given to all International Students.
