What Students Say
Likes
- Location. Guelph is hub of Mechanical/ automotive industry , and it helped me After my graduation. Within a week I got my field job
- Variety of courses, campus and material availability with good research facilities. There is no specific type that particular course is available for particular course only. We can choose any course we like it's irrelevant of any stream.
Dislikes
- Fees little bit high and they keep increasing it every year. Every semester has different fees, in my opinion it should be same for every sem. If you are doing MENG , it's not that worth compared to MASC.
UOG is underrated University as it is located in Guelph which is isolated from GTA. My experience was incredible studying at University of Guelph.
Course Curriculum
All the courses are updated according to industry standards. Also there are no restriction on choosing course, you can even choose bachelor's course if you want if your basics are not clear, University focus on learning rather than grading.
Faculty
There are around 20/30 students in each course. Usually it's 12 week of whole lecture week and there are exams after that. Professor are available at any time but you need to take appointment in advance.
Campus Life
Campus is excellent and extracurricular activities are happening giving good experience to bond with locals. There is a football ground, basketball court, gym and other sports with tournaments happening.
Placement
Linamar, tigercat, magna, Guelph police, ellipse automatic and others had visited for job fair. Job fairs are mainly held in summer.
Accommodation
I used to live off campus, it's cheap and affordable compared to on campus and there is a waiting list for on campus accommodation. I paid 450 dollars monthly on share basis, in Guelph accommodation is hard to find and little bit costly compared to other cities.
Exams
Mine was IELTS my score was speaking 8 , writing 6, reading 7.5, listening 8.5 , overall 7.5. I had to submit my CV, SOP, LOR and 2 references, it can be your academic/ work or combo of both.
Fees
My total was 38000 CAD, I completed my masters in 4 sem.
