  • This eight-month graduate certificate program enhances the knowledge and skillsets of front line service providers or recent graduates of relevant programs with a specialization in mental health intervention.
  • Along with studying theoretical and practical course content in family dynamics, community mental health and crisis intervention, students will be introduced to practical applications of the latest research and develop an understanding of risk, protective factors as well as early intervention applications. This training will prepare students to provide expertise to individuals and families in need of support.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario university or college degree or college diploma or equivalent in community studies, health and public safety, or a related program.

English Language Requirements

All applicants to Seneca must be well prepared to study in English. If you are coming from a country where English is not the primary language, you must show one of the following:

  1. Successful completion of a minimum of two years of full-time study in a school and country where English is the primary language
  2. Successful completion of a minimum of one year of full-time study at the postsecondary level in an institution and country where English is the primary language
  3. Successful completion of an intensive English program such as the English Language Institute
  4. English proficiency test scores from one of the international English language testing bodies are listed below. Only tests taken in the last two years are considered valid
  • IELTS Academic - Minimum 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
  • PTE Academic - Minimum score 58
  • TOEFL iBT (including MyBest TOEFL and Home Edition) - Minimum 80 with no skill below 20
  • Duolingo - Minimum score 105 to 110
  • Cambridge English Exams (B2 First/FCE, C1 Advanced/CAE, or C2 Proficiency/CPE) - Minimum 169 with no skill below 162
