- Mining engineers are concerned with the extraction and processing of ores from the earth that contain valuable minerals or metals. They are involved in mine design, mining systems, geology/resource estimation, geotechnical/rock mechanics, mine ventilation, mining economics, management, and finance.
- The program has an emphasis on technical analysis and evaluation of mining systems including mine design and planning, rock mechanics, modeling and simulation, risk and uncertainty, mining geostatistics, mine management, and sustainable mining practices.
- Master of Engineering (Mining) comprises a foundation year and an advanced studies year. You will:
- study geomechanics, geotechnical engineering and geostatistics
- build skills in mine design, modelling and simulation
- conduct risk and uncertainty analyses
- explore mine management, planning and sustainable practices
- pursue specialist topics according to your interests and career goals
- undertake a significant research project.
- The Master of Engineering is a 48-unit program comprising:
- 12 units of core courses;
- 12 units of foundation courses;
- 12 units of advanced technical coursework and;
- a project to the value of 12 units, which introduces candidates to research.
- Assessment includes course and project work. All students are required to complete a minimum of 12 weeks of practical experience outside normal class time. Practical experience can be undertaken in Australia or overseas.

- All India Senior Secondary Certificate (CBSE, New Delhi), Indian School Certificate (ISC), Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu State Board Examination and Telangana State Board Examination.
