What Students Say
Likes
- I loved the library and faculty
- All of my lecturers were industry experts positioned at high roles in their respective companies.
Course Curriculum
- The course syllabus was as per the job market, and we had multiple guest lectures and industry projects where we took on an actual project from a partner company.
- We usually had one lecture per subject per week, along with any tutorials as per the subject requirement. My course had fewer classes than other courses, averaging 3 classes per week overall.
Admission Experience
- It was the most affordable university as per my budget that also offered the best quality of education, comparable to a G8 university.
Faculty
- We had 1 lecturer for 60 students roughly in a lecture and 1 faculty member for 20 students during tutorials. The faculty members are extremely knowledgeable and highly acclaimed researchers or industry professionals.
- I really enjoyed the lectures of Dr Kailash Awati, Anthony So, and William So.
Campus Life
- I got to live in their student accommodation, which was right next to their wonderful campus. There are over 100s of different clubs that organise multiple activities throughout the semester.
- The library is world-class, and I would often study there late at night, or sometimes all night.
Part Time Jobs
- I was able to get a part-time job at Domino's during the initial days that helped me with my rent and other expenses. Many students try multiple different things, such as job portals or walking into a place and asking if they are hiring. Both ways are good. There were no working hour restrictions when I arrived in Australia due to post covid economy; it is 48 hours per fortnight these days.
- On-campus jobs are also good, but the competition is higher, and they don’t have steady hours. I have seen a couple of students also secure Teaching Assistant positions.
Placement
- The job opportunities are usually dependent on the individual, as universities here do not have any campus placement programs. I was fortunate enough to find a job during my studies at the university.
- The average salary range would be 70,000-80,000. Common ways to find jobs are networking, university job portals, and other job portals like Seek and Indeed.
Accommodation
- I went to the university accomodation the details of which are available on the university website. Other ways can be through Scape accommodations or Unilodge, which are also private student accommodations.
- Finding a personal place to live can also be done through Facebook Marketplace or flatmates; however, be very careful of scams.
Exams
- Mostly, the university considers the bachelor's education background and GPA scores; other exams are obviously helpful.
- My Scores: GRE 316, IELTS 8.5. The university of required IELTS or any other standard English test
Fees
- I paid 60,000 AUD roughly after a 25% scholarship.
