Required Exams for Admission

IELTS (7)

Great experience, great university and staff, limitless facilities.

Course Curriculum

9

My course was entirely based on research and I learned the latest data processing techniques, big data analytics on High-performance computing and presented my work to industrial partners.

Faculty

9

I don't know the faculty to student ratio but Unimelb has been top 1 in Australia in the past three years. The faculty and staff member are highly supportive and knowledgeable. They are always ready to help the students. Professor Peter Rayner is the greatest of all due to high depth of knowledge, humbleness and impactful research work.

Campus Life

10

UniMelb is having great campus life as it offers a lot of extracurricular activities and all the possible facilities such as libraries, free wifi, sports clubs, gym, clubs for multi-culture societies, fitness, fun and learning.

Placement

9

The University of Melbourne graduates have been at the top to get job secured in the market. The UniMelb offers free courses at the LMS where students learn about the relevant industry and job placement. Also, UniMelb alumni and mentorship program is very helpful to connect present and past graduates.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

The University of Melbourne does not have accommodation itself, rather they partner with the UniLodge. The UniLodge accommodation is though convenient but its expensive relatively. One should get private accommodation for him/herself.

Exams

At those time only IELTS was required and my scores were 7 each. IELTS and PTE are accepted by the UniMelb. With the submission of SOP, CV, and Research Proposal, your research proposal and profile should be aligned with the potential supervisor. I had one round of interview after application with the Professor under whom I wanted to work, it was a sense check on my knowledge and its depth. Also related to my SOP how and why I proposed and some more basic problem solving questions.

Fees

It was 48000 AUD/year for the PhD Science.

Scholarship

I got Melbourne Research Scholarship which was 30,000 AUD/year. The scholarship applications was submitted with the admission application by checking one box only.
