RMIT University is offering a scholarship of 5,000 AUD (2.75 lakhs) to the aspiring international students. This scholarship is available to high-achieving Foundation Studies international students. The scholarship is a one-time payment of 5,000 AUD, applied to the student's future tuition fees after the first census date. Twenty-five (25) scholarships are available for semester 1, 2025. The last date to apply for this scholarship is 31 January 2025.
Eligibility Criteria for the RMIT University Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to have the following.
- Be an international student on a valid Australian student visa
- Have an existing offer letter (full or conditional offer)
- Be a commencing student in Feb 2025 intake in any stream of the Foundation Studies program
- Must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Not be an existing Foundation Studies student
Note: You are also eligible to apply if you plan to apply for an Australian Student Visa before the program's commencement.

- The scholarship is only applicable for tuition fees and is not refundable.
- The scholarship is only applicable to the eligible program(s) and duration on your initial offer letter.
- The scholarship cannot be deferred to another year/ intake in Australia and must be used for the intake you have been offered it for.
- Scholarship selection is based on academic merit.
- Successful applicants will be notified; unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
- Applicants must not have any other external scholarship or government funding covering tuition fees.
- Those who were awarded the English to Foundation Studies Pathway Bursary or South East Asia Foundation Studies Bursary can still apply.
- The scholarships will be offered on a rolling basis until exhausted.
Details About RMIT University Foundation Courses
RMIT Foundation Studies is a standard streamed Foundation program and is a direct pathway to degree courses. It gives you the skills you need to be university-ready. Foundation Studies is 1 year long and delivered face-to-face on campus, including a live online component. The tuition fee for these courses is 29,350 AUD in 2025. These courses are available in 6 streams:
- Art, Design, and Architecture
- Business
- Communication and Social Context
- Engineering and Science
- Health
- Information and Technology (IT)
Admission requirements include:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification equal to an Australian Year 11 with a minimum D average.
- All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC): At least 60% average in Class 11.
- Indian School Certificate (ISC): At least 60% average in Class 11.
- State Boards: Completion of Year 11 with an average of 65%.
- English Language proficiency: Any one of the following
- IELTS: 5.5
- TOEFL: 50
- PTE Academic: 42
- C1 Advanced: minimum of 162 with no less than 154 in any component.
