GP Birla Scholarship is provided to the students who have passed the Class 12th board examination with 85% marks or 90% in CBSE/ ISC examination from West Bengal. Every year, this scholarship is offered by Birla Foundation to the top 100 meritorious students and both male and female candidates can avail the benefits of this scholarship. Students who are from economically weak backgrounds can get this scholarship.

The scholarship is provided to develop human resources and make the students meritorious and also to empower the upcoming generation of India. This scholarship will help the needy as well as meritorious students to do further studies according to their interests. The students who have the following eligibility criteria can apply for this scholarship:

• Every student who have scored 85% in the Class 12th examination from a state board of education or 90% from any central board of education, like CBSE or ISC
• The students who are from poor family background can apply for this scholarship. The family income should be less than INR 300,000 per year to apply for this scholarship
• The students, who are from West Bengal are eligible for this scholarship
• The scholarship is also provided to those who need financial aid to pursue their further higher education
• This scholarship is provided to those who are pursuing degree in any stream, like, Science, Arts and Humanities, Commerce, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture and Law and other Professional course (Cost Accountancy, Chartered Accountancy)

GP Birla Scholarship 2021: Benefits

• Top 100 meritious students will be able to avail this scholarship every year
• The students will get an amount of INR 50,000 per year with one time amount of INR 7,000 to purchase course books
• The scholarship can cover the tuition as well as hostel fees of the students
• This scholarship is provided only for one year, but if the students can get a satisfactory mark then the scholarship will be continued in the preceding year
• The meritious students can avail of this scholarship up to the completion of their course in any course

The methods of application for this scholarship are as follow:

• The students who are pursuing higher degrees after passing class 12th examination can apply through either online or offline mode
• Eligible students are advised to download the application form from the website to apply via offline mode
• Then the students must fill up the application form and they are also required to submit all the relevant documents to the official address, i.e., GP Birla Educational Foundation, Syed Ali Avenue, Kolkata- 700019
• The students who want to apply through online mode must have to visit the official website of GP Birla Educational Foundation
• Then they have to fill the application form
• After that they have to upload a scanned color photograph, copy of annual family income proof certificate, copy of class 12 Marksheet and Certificate and proof of admission into the higher degree’s
• After the submission of the application form, the educational foundation will select the top 100 meritious and needy students

GP Birla Scholarship 2021: Selection Criteria

• The selection will be made by the expert panel of the Trust and the members of the trust are- Dr. Rajib Das (Jadavpur University, Kolkata) and Prof. Sumanta Basu (Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata)
• After reviewing the applications of the candidates the list of the shortlisted candidates will be finalized
