Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission 2024 is done based on HP PAT. The Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test (HP PAT) is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board (HPTEB), Dharamshala every year to provide admissions to students in polytechnic courses in Himachal Pradesh.
HP PAT exam dates have been announced for candidates seeking admission to the first year HP Polytechnic Admission. For candidates seeking Lateral Entry HP Polytechnic Admission, LEET 2024 exam dates have also been announced. HP PAT will be conducted on May 19, and HP LEET 2024 will be conducted on May 26, 2024.
Through this entrance exam, students will be eligible to get admission to government and private institutes of the state. Aspiring and eligible candidates must complete the application form online on the official website. HPTEB has begun the registration process for the HP PAT and HP LEET 2024.

HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria
The candidates seeking admission to polytechnic course must fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned below:
- Candidates should be citizens of India.
- Candidates should have a domicile certificate of HP for reservation.
- Candidates must have passed class 10 with at least 35% marks from a recognized board.
- Candidates must have studied English, Mathematics, and Science in their qualifying exam.
- Candidates who are waiting for their results or are about to take the 10th-class exams are also eligible to apply.
HP Polytechnic Admission Process 2024
To apply for HP PAT Admissions, the candidates must follow the following steps:
- Visit the official website of HP Takniki Shiksha Board.
- Then, click on Online Admissions 2024.
- Follow the page and click on the Polytechnic PAT Admissions option available.
- After that click on new registrations and register yourself by entering the necessary details.
- Now, log in using your credentials created.
- Fill out the application form carefully with all the mandatory details like name, educational qualifications, contact number, address etc.
- Now, in the next option upload your passport-size photograph and signature.
- Then, make the payment of the application form using a debit card, credit card or net banking.
- Save the form and take a printout of the same for future reference.
- The application fee for the general category students is INR 650.

HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Exam Pattern
The HP PAT entrance exam is conducted in an offline mode. There are a total of 150 questions from 4 subjects. The subjects are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English. The exam is objective and has multiple-choice questions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
For every correct answer, 4 marks are awarded to the candidates. There is also negative marking in the exam as for every wrong answer given 1 mark is deducted. There is no provision available for re-evaluation of the answer sheet in this exam.

HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Admit Card
The admit cards are released on the official website only. The candidates can log in using the credentials they had created to download their admit cards and take a printout of the same.
HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Results
After the exam is held, the candidates will be given admission based on the merit list prepared by the authorities. The merit list will be released after the HP Polytechnic Entrance Exams have been conducted.
HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Counselling
The HP PAT counseling is being conducted online. The students who qualified for the HP Polytechnic Admissions are called for counseling. The counseling is conducted in various rounds and to allocate all the seats. After the counseling, the candidate is required to report to the allotted institute for document verification and fee payment else the admission will be dismissed.
HP Polytechnic Admission 2024: Reservations
The candidates from reserved categories are provided with the benefit of reservation as per the government's policy. Candidates from Himachal Pradesh are also given reservations under the state quota.
The category mentioned while filling out the application form will be taken into consideration. No changes will be entertained in case of wrong information is given and the candidate will have to provide the necessary certificates for reservation. Any failure would result in no reservation for the candidate.
