No. MBA applicants to the PIMR PG campus do not register for MP DTE counselling. The Directorate of Technical Education, Bhopal runs centralised MBA counselling for state-affiliated and private colleges in Madhya Pradesh. PIMR Indore sits outside that list because of its deemed university status.

Eligibility Criteria for the 2027 MBA Cycle

The eligibility bar is the same across all seven MBA programmes. It is set by the university, not by any state counselling rule.

  • A Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years duration.
  • At least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • At least 45% marks for reserved category candidates.
  • A valid percentile from CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA or the PIMR Admission Test.
  • Candidates with an overseas degree need an AIU equivalence certificate.

Final-year and final-semester candidates can also apply. Such candidates get a provisional admission if selected. The final marksheet must reach the university before the Semester I examination timeline. Admission stays provisional until that marksheet is verified.

Example: A B.Com student in the final year in November 2026 can apply for the 2027-29 batch. The offer, if made, stays provisional. The degree marksheet has to be submitted after the result, before the first semester exams.

What Replaces MP DTE Counselling in the PIMR Selection Process?

Skipping state counselling does not mean skipping screening. It shifts the screening to the campus. Candidates face a written test, a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview instead of a seat allotment round.

The university describes this as an integrated and non-eliminatory evaluation. So a weak show in one stage does not knock a candidate out on its own. Every component feeds a single consolidated scoresheet.
