  • As a performing arts major, students curriculum will provide a solid theoretical, historical, and experiential liberal arts education by providing a hands-on approach to education. In addition to taking courses, students will perform in a variety of roles such as actor, director, lighting technician, or costume or sound designer.
  • A major or minor in performing arts from Iowa State will provide the groundwork for a career in art administration, arts and entertainment journalism, or marketing and public relations. All performing arts majors and minors are expected to be active in dance projects, theatre workshops, or fully mounted productions. Iowa State offers an opportunity to participate in a variety of performing arts programs.
