  • My course is structured differently when comparing it with my other friends. Most of my assignments are thought-provoking and challenging wherein answers cannot be found over the internet. We are required to go out there in the real world and figure out things. More of practical things.
  • Positives are definitely we have a better understanding of the world than just the books. It gets challenging when things get piled up.
  • I have classed three days a week this semester. 3 classes in a day with about 120 minutes of class time.

Fees

  • Tuition and fees here at Pitt cost about $52,700, housing costs about $10,000, and other expenses amount to $5,000 annually.
  • The fees here at Pitt are charged per semester and they do have credit plans.
  • My monthly expenses amount to $1,500- $2,000 including my rent, and groceries. Transportation is free for Pitt students with a valid ID card inside of Pittsburgh.

  • In my course, there are 5 core courses - Algorithm Design, Database Systems, Applications of Networks, human Information Processing and Information Security and Privacy.
  • There are almost equal number of hard, medium and easy courses. Personally, I found Information Security and Privacy, Machine Learning and Database systems hard. There are many easy courses like Human Information Processing, Cloud Computing, and Information Visualization. All the courses are mix of both practical and theoretical knowledge. All the courses are designed to include interesting projects under the guidance of professors, offering hands-on experience and resume-worth projects.
  • The most positive aspects of the courses is that they all offer project-based learning experience along with collaborative approaches.
  • The most negative aspects of the courses is that most of them have weightage for attendance in the class.
  • The courses in Information Science are 3 hours long, typically from 9 AM to 12 PM, 12 PM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 6 PM, or 6 PM to 9 PM. It largely depends on the availability of class rooms and professors.
  • The average number of students varies by course; its class strength varies from 9 to 50.
  • At least 50% of the students are Indians.

Fees

  • The tuition fees per semester varies from $23K to $24k. This includes Graduate Activity Fee, Security & Transportation Fee, Computer/Network Service Fee, Wellness Fee and GR Tuition SCI OS.
  • The fees is charged per semester and for lesser than 9 credits, the fees is charged per credit.
  • The monthly estimate including Rent and Food is $700. Pittsburgh Regional Transportation is already included in the tuition fees. Gym subscriptions are included too.

Wide range of courses you can pick from. Pretty normal and easy going course work, in terms of tests, assignments and projects. Every task is preformed in groups. Professors are people who are currently working in the industry.

Top rated public university in the country. Frequent career fairs (job fairs). Ample on-campus job opportunities. Affordable city for living (rent is cheaper). Free public transportation for students.

it's a great location for the campus since it is in the city, has good resources for new grad students who start school here. More variety of courses could be offered soon, but at the moment there are only so many that one can choose from. Career prospects are good but highly depend on the student's networking skills and presentation/profile. People are friendly and helpful

Fees

Tuition is slightly expensive, but the overall experience of the city and the learning curve kind of balances that cost. living expenses are cheap so that balances the other costs too Tuition about 56k $ (for duration of program) living expenses: 400-500$ (upper limit, per month) rent: 400-500$ ( lower limit, per month) misc expenses: 200$ (per month)

There could be an improvement. There are a lot of general education classes that I would rather not take. The business curriculum is very well developed, but I don't know if the arts and science school is that good.

Fees

Tuition is the hefty part that costs over the thousands. Housing and food is the second large charge. The other charges are transportation and technology fees and student life.

There are thousands, of course, offerings (a perk of a larger public school) with specific concentrations for every interest. Sometimes this means that classes are not offered when you want to take them or end up being very large.

Fees

All fees are included in a lump sum of tuition payment. This includes a bus pass, tuition, wellness fees, student insurance, etc.
