From creative writing to statistics and data science, behavioural economics to social and political history, Dietrich College from Carnegie Mellon University is home to 11 humanities and social sciences departments, programs and institutes. Their world-class faculty and students work across disciplines to investigate and solve real-world problems. The program holds a QS global ranking of 54 in 2024.
The Humanities Department at Carnegie Mellon University was created in 2019 as an initiative that aims to strengthen Dietrich College’s exceptional humanities research and education and bring them to a broader audience. They seek to support a new generation of humanities work that engages in far-reaching partnerships not only with artists but also with data scientists, computer scientists, psychologists and economists.
