- The Master of Science in Biological Sciences in Drexel University is available both on a full-time and part-time basis.
- It is an on-campus program with co-op options.
- Drexel's graduate co-op program provides a six-month period of full-time job experience, gaining access to well-known employers in the industry.
- The core curriculum provides the necessary training in medical science, modeling and simulation and biomedical engineering applications.
- The core requirements for the master's in Biomedical engineering include a minimum of 45-course credits and an optional research thesis.
- Students in biomedical engineering (BME) can choose to concentrate or specialize in one of six areas:
- bioinformatics,
- biomaterials and tissue engineering,
- biomechanics and human performance engineering,
- cardiovascular engineering,
- drug delivery and
- neuroengineering.
- On entering the field, students may use their knowledge of physiological systems to re-imagine and improve the delivery of healthcare by creating artificial tissues and neural networks, accelerating wound healing, or designing new equipment like noninvasive healthcare diagnostic tools.
