The Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Degree is offered by the Gallogly College of Engineering and is designed to produce independent researchers and academic leaders. The program design focuses on creating transformative and innovative ideas through advanced analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills for complex systems in areas such as operations research, data analytics and optimization, manufacturing, and human factors. Students will work closely with their faculty advisor to conduct original research as a part of their degree work that will culminate in a doctoral dissertation. As a note, nearly all students admitted to the Ph.D. program receive full funding with graduate assistantships that cover tuition and pay a monthly stipend.

Academic Requirement

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Master of Science (M.S.) degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related science from an accredited institution. The Graduate College requires at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale during the undergraduate degree program, but a GPA of 3.5 or higher will be very competitive for admission and funding.

Work Experience

Not required for admission, but solid experience with archaeological fieldwork, lab analysis or a relevant research experience is highly encouraged, and will greatly enhance your application.
