Requirements	Applicants must hold a five-year bachelor of architecture (B.Arch.) degree, or an equivalent first professional degree. A professional degree is one that allows for the practice of architecture in the country where the degree was attained without additional educational requirements. A bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree with a major in architecture is not considered a first professional degree. Students with international professional degrees should apply to the M.Arch. II program, even if they eventually plan to pursue licensure in the United States
Documents Requirements	Transcripts: Upload scanned, legible transcripts from all attended institutions. For international transcripts, include both original and certified English translation. Graduating students must upload their current transcript. Accepted students will later submit final official transcripts to Yale. Standardized Examinations: GRE: Optional for M.Arch. and M.E.D. programs; use code 3985 for submission. TOEFL iBT: Required for non-native English speakers, can be waived under certain conditions; IELTS not accepted. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Required; upload to the online application. Letters of Recommendation: Three letters required, to be uploaded by recommenders by January 9, 2024. Submit through the online system. Portfolio (for M.Arch. only): Digital portfolio (single PDF, up to 40MB) required. Must reflect creative work and experiences; no videos allowed. Research Proposal (for M.E.D. only): Detailed research proposal needed, including goals, study plan, and anticipated results. Include prior work, key questions, methods, Yale courses, and career expectations. Verification: All credentials (transcripts, recommendations, test scores) will be verified.
