MED Environmental Design at YaleU: Fees 2026 Dates & Requirements

The MED program is intended for qualified applicants with a graduate or undergraduate degree in architecture or a related discipline who exhibit a strong capacity for independent research

The main criterion for admission to the program is a well-defined research proposal for independent study that engages one or more of the study areas listed below

• Ecologies and Economies of the Built Environment
• History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture and Urbanism
• Multimedia Research
• Visual Studies

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

• Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

• A statement of academic purpose
• Unofficial transcripts should be uploaded with your application. Official or paper transcripts are not needed at this time. 
• Three letters of recommendation. Enter the names of your recommenders directly in the application and they will receive a link to upload a letter on your behalf. 
• $105 application fee or fee waiver. 
• Standardized tests. GRE requirements vary by program. TOEFL or IELTS are necessary for most non-native English speakers.
