The special education major prepares teachers to teach students with disabilities, ages Pre-K to 21 receiving services along the full continuum of service delivery options. This program is fully approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Special Education program also prepares students to work with infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays and coursework toward the Early Childhood Special Education approval.
