What Students Say
Likes
- Faculty is experienced and well-seasoned, working at top Pharmas
- Application process was smooth and international student friendly and timely
- Flexibility and relevance of course work
Dislikes
- Less availability of on-campus opportunities for international students
- No research option for students having a scientific background
- Less facilities available for students compared to other colleges/universities in the area
Course Curriculum
- The difficulty level ranges from Medium to difficult as it is an intricate coursework requiring detail-oriented reading and studying. The majority of the course work is theory or guidelines based but the practical aspect of it also theoretical dealing with documentation.
- The positive aspect is that it is very thorough and encompasses all the aspects of the pharma world.
- The negative aspect is that it focuses mostly on the US FDA.
Admission Experience
- Applied to :5 Universities.
DePaul University
Adelphi University
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Arizona State University
University of Washington. - DePaul University, Adelphi University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences ,& Arizona State University confirmed my admission.
- There was technical difficulty with ASU which is why I did not go forward with it and I was rejected by University of Washington because I did not meet the criteria of requirements needed for the course I had applied for.
- The pharmacy program at this school was top-notch and well known across the country. The admission process was not nerve-wracking and the college representatives did a really good job on assisting with all the process in due time. The accepted exam was IELTS/ TOEFL and good grades in UG program. The key challenges were really gauging if it the program was the right fit in reality and not the application process.
- I applied for the Fall Intake of 2023. I had graduated in Feb 2023 but my course ended in June 2022 and I wanted to gain some work experience which is why I started working before starting school again.
- The admission process took around 7-8 months.
- I prepared for my IELTS exam and gave my exam in July 2022, and then I applied to LIU in February/March 2022. I heard back and got accepted in June 2023. After that I received my I-20 in July and applied for my visa interview in August. I received my passport with the visa in a couple of weeks and entered the US in August 2023.
Class Schedule
- There are usually 3 classes per week for almost 1.5 hours, mostly during the evening time since it a graduate course.
- The average number of students range from 20 - 50 depending on course availability semester wise.
- The majority of students are of Indian origin.
Faculty
- There has been an increase in the influx of students so the faculty to student ratio has been 1: 30 on an average. I think it kind of limits the attention on every student by the faculty and also makes evaluation harder. The teaching method are straightforward.
- The professors teach from personal examples and recent publications. Professors try their best to help students find job opportunities but they are limited.
- All the faculty members are admirable because of what they have achieved professionally and the way they can impart knowledge to the next generation and encourage us to be well versed and continue learning.
Campus Life
- This university hosts a lot of events and fests.
- There's a lot of celebration among all the communities and people groups attending the school
- Our campus has a gym, library, cafeteria, music room, dorms and a breezeway.
- The major event is midnight breakfast and midnight madness
- There are several student organizations that you can be a part of.
- The pharmacy school also has the honor societies like Rho Chi, and so on.
Part Time Jobs
- There are few to none on campus opportunities. You have to been in good graces with the Administrative heads to be noticed which is not a fair thing. The university does not have funds so pay for TA/ GA is 1000 per month or 3 credits.
- Students can work on the sister campus for Subway, Starbucks, Browse store, or volunteer to work for the Chemistry or Science labs. The hourly wage is 16$. Maximum hours of work allowed by USCIS is 20 hours. It is not easy to secure any jobs as everything is super competitive. You have to be on top of your game and ask and look out for opportunities.
- Indian students earn from $12 - 20 working part time. It is hard balancing work and study and constantly trying to find a job when the administration is changing and the market is not in your favor. The university has a website where they post jobs. Other methods include going in person, meeting them and asking them to look out for you. The best way to apply is through applying on the job board and ask somebody to refer you. I haven't been interviewed. So no idea of how that goes
Placement
- It is extremely hard to find a job if you have no experience. The recession does not help. I feel like 50% of graduates get a job because of their own efforts and connections. The university plays no part in that.
- There are no campus recruitments for international students. Students can find a job through social media mainly Linked In and Handshake
Accommodation
- I opted for off-campus accommodation since you can choose who you can live with.
- I tried social media but there were no proper groups created by the university so I went the traditional route of asking my friends in person. I got lucky and I found a friend who was in need of a roommate.
- Monthly rent - $ 550 (shared bedroom) Water and heat were included.
- As I said I got extremely lucky because there were no proper channels to find an accommodation and there are a lot of scammers out there so trusting someone was difficult.
- I live 20 minutes from the campus
Exams
- The university accepts any language proficiency test and has waived GRE for graduate students.
- The absolutely necessary documents are Statement of Purpose, Letter of Recommendations (3) and CV.
- Other documents which are also required are your transcripts and mark sheets. They sometimes ask for degree certificates and transcripts directly sent to them via the UG university or through WES
Fees
- Entire course tuition fee - $50,000
Fee breakdown semester wise
1. Health insurance - $1526
2. University fee -$500
3. Tuition - 14380
Housing - $15,000 - There is a flexible option of paying your fees on month to month basis or semester wise.
Monthly expense

Scholarship
- No, international students do not receive any scholarships
- The agency through which I got admitted to this university provided some scholarship for 2 semesters just because I chose the university and it was not merit based.
- Other than that the only way to earn credits is by getting a GA position.
