Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • Academics and discipline, like 100% attendance, are mandatory at the yeshiva, and the professors are extremely good. Students can't take leave more than 3 per subject again it depends on the professor’s criteria.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

  • Nothing went wrong. I got the admit letter on the day of my visa. NYU was expensive, and no scholarship chance for me. At least I don't know about others, but this was also my criteria, and it should not exceed the amount that I am thinking.

Tips to enhance your application

  • Include what other things you have done apart from your studies.  I have my own podcast channel, and I am also a content creator. I also have a book chapter published, so yeah, these were some benefits, and don't forget to mention yours.

Admission Experience

  • Land of opportunity and, as I said, discipline, and it is very supportive New York is finance capital, so the vibes here are solid. They have a strong emphasis on research, and they also get funding every year, they organise events every year to showcase the work they have done with faculties, and the exposure is great.

Class Schedule

10

  • The usual class is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30, and some are from 7:30 to 9:30. In winter, it is harsh, but these are the fixed times of every class, and there is no other time than these two times. In my class, everyone is Indian, so I didn't get a lot of chances to interact with other people, but there are two people from China, some from Zimbabwe, and three from Nepal; that is it, and the rest are Indians.

Faculty

10

  • They are superb and well-educated one professor is the director of the renal research institute here in New York. The faculty here are very knowledgeable, and it is good because you learn a lot of things from them some professors here are adjuncts, meaning part-time faculties, and some are full-time. You get proper attention, and also, class strength is not that big.

Campus Life

10

  • Three campuses are there, and the sports section is at the top of the building. My campus name is Beren campus, located at 215 Lexington Avenue. Two campuses are within 1 minute of reach, but the third one is the Wilf campus, which is far away. Don't worry, you don't have to go there, your main campus will be so most of the class will be here only.

Part Time Jobs

  • 12 an hour for 4 hours a week, sometimes 10 hours a week I don't know for sure, but yeah, they get this much. You will get an email like Hey, this job is available it will redirect you to the university portal for jobs where you can see and apply, and you can only use the email ID they have given under the job description.
  • Part-time is hard in this university since many students apply, and it gets filled within minutes, so yeah. But don't be sad even if you don't get it because getting an internship is not important, so use your energy wisely and focus on what you are here for. Finding an internship is hard because of the competition.

Placement

6

  • Students find jobs via LinkedIn via a few connections they make on campus with faculties, and the rest like going to the companies' websites and asking them too many emails to the recruiters and so on yes, the average salary is okay because I have didn't ask anyone properly regarding salary and all so yeah. Right now, I am in my 3rd semester, so I do not know the percentage yet.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • I found my previous apartment with a lease from LinkedIn, but the new home through a WhatsApp group, and these groups are important, I am telling you.
  • Make sure you find good flatmates. So yeah, my suggestion is to LinkedIn and find someone who is already there in the university, and they will find you, but make sure to finalise everything one month before coming to the US otherwise, the CBC officer might ask you where you will live.
