Course Curriculum

8

  • The difficulty level is average if anyone knows to do coding. The CS course will be very good and you will learn many things. If they don't know coding, they can take IT and business analytics.
  • The classes will usually be from morning 8am to evening 5pm. We will have a maximum of 2 classes per day, which is around 1 hour per class.
  • The average number of students is around 30–50.
  • There are around 250 students coming from India every semester.

Admission Experience

  • I have applied to ASU, University of Dayton, UMBC, SUNY Buffalo, UNCC, University of Cincinnati, Stony Brook, UNT, UTA, and NAU.
  • I got admissions from ASU, Sunny Buffalo, UMBC, NAU, and the University of Dayton. Remaining collages rejected me.
  • In my opinion, I have applied for spring intake. Hence the application was rejected and even my UG was is ECE and I wanted to pursue CS for my masters. Hence, many colleges rejected me.
  • I chose this university as it is overall well ranked. It also offers GRA and GTA so my fees will be waived off. I had skills and I wanted to learn something new. So I chose this university.
  • After acceptance, we will get I-20, and then we can get our visa and get admitted to this college.
  • IELTS score of 6.5 is accepted in this college.
  • The overall admissions process is very good. I liked this college. The first semester was challenging for CS students. As we need to complete mandatory courses in this college.
  • I have applied for spring intake. The factors that included my decision were that I wanted to study at a public university. It must have a good ranking in the USA. I don't like cold weather so I chose this university as it is situated in desert land.
  • The overall admission process took around 6 months for me. I applied to this university in July. I got admitted in September.

Faculty

8

  • There will be a 1 to 30 ratio in our university. The ratio is good as we have a teaching assistant for every 10 students in general; they will help if we need any help regarding the course.
  • The teaching approach is very good and it is more than enough for passing or getting a good grade in that course. The teaching methodology will be mostly presentation and they will be clearing all doubts in class or office hours if we have any.
  • We have a teaching assistant and a research assistant; if we have good interaction with professors, we have a high chance of getting that.

Campus Life

8

  • There are many extracurricular activities going on in university. Every day there will be some or the other event happening on campus.
  • There are every facility, like a library, sports, and medical services, available in this university.
  • For Indian students, holi and diwali will be celebrated. There will be many hackathons. clubs are there to join and build our network.

Part Time Jobs

  • Every professor will have around 2 TA. So its very difficult to get TA. RA depends on your interest. You need to approach the professor for getting RA and determine your interest and if the professor likes your profile. He might give you RA.
  • The pay range would be 17 for TA and 25 for RA. It depends on the professor how much the pay would be.
  • Other on-campus jobs are in dining. Many jobs you can apply for in handshake.
  • Per week, we need to only work for 20 hours. During holidays, we can work 40 hours.
  • It is quite challenging to get on campus part-time. We need to wait for at least 2 months to get on campus part-time.
  • Most students work in dining. As they hire many people. It depends on us how we study and balance other things while doing the job. The usual process to apply for jobs is through handshake and Sodexo Webiste for dining. There will be interviews and we need to answer the questions they ask. Based on our interview, they will select. For dining, if we get an interview, then they will mostly hire for sure.

Placement

6

  • Many people will graduate and securing a job depends on our skills. The average salary range across US is around 60k-70k USD for master students. Students must actively search jobs in linkedin and other websites where jobs are posted. Most companies are there around US to get for getting hired in CS related field.
  • There is no concept like placements in USA. We need to search jobs on our own. If we have good skills and do our masters properly we will for sure land a good job.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • I have opted for off campus. You can find it better than on campus as it will be very less rent but we need to stay atleast 6 people in 1 apartment.
  • The rent will be 2000$ per apartment and depends on how many people stay in that to divide for each person.
  • Its better to ask most things before coming here to accommodate. Clearing rent amount and other bills and if we leave that apartment in between, we have to replace someone so taking everything in advance with lease owners will help a lot. Ask 4-5 members early to not have any issues after coming here.

Exams

  • Any English proficiency test is accepted in this university. IELTS, TOEFL, and Duolingo.
  • Having GRE is good, but this university does not ask GRE.
  • WE must have 3 LORs and a statement of purpose.
  • There was no interview to get admitted to this university.
  • A resume is also needed along with your academic certificate. It is very good to have other certificates if you have any.

Fees

  • Tuition would be $13,000 per semester. If we get a $5,000 international excellence award. For 3 credits, it would cost $3500. We need to pay it semester-wise.
  • The monthly expense depends on us. It will be around $500 to $1,000 for overall expenses.
  • For rent, it will be $400 per month if we are staying off campus and if we stay on campus it will be 1,000. For groceries, 100$. Remaining things depends on us how much we spend for other things.

Scholarship

  • Most people in this university will receive an international excellence award, which will be around $5,000. Even I have received this.
  • All my batchmates received this scholarship. The average financial scholarship is $10,000 per year.
  • Most students who are international will receive this scholarship.
  • Eligibility criteria to have this scholarship is that our GPA must be above 3.
