What Students Say
Likes
- The brand name significantly contributes to a proxy in competence, which is a major advantage.
- Strong support for those looking to pursue entrepreneurship opportunities.
- Ideal for those interested in highly technical courses and opportunities.
Dislikes
- Not a very suitable fit for Product Management.
- Tuition fees are quite high for the value provided.
- Large batch sizes may be a concern.
Required Exams for Admission
I primarily chose this college for its brand value and the successful placements of alumni. However, the program was more focused on data and software development rather than product management, which was a drawback.
Course Curriculum
I think the course syllabus is extremely updated. The academic curriculum is great especially if it's theoretical, technical or research based. Not so much industrial exposure.
Faculty
Faculty-to-student ratio is decent, would be 25:1. The Faculty is great and extremely knowledgeable, would definitely recommend to use this resource.
Campus Life
Facilities are extremely average since it's a small campus. The campus life was decent, not that much opportunity for extracurricular.
Placement
Median salary is high primarily because of the skillset one develops while being a part of CMU. The alumni network is definitely strong, however average support provided by the career services for placements.
Accommodation
Average monthly expenditure for rent(not shared), utilities, travel grocery etc would be $1000/month.
Exams
- My scores: GRE 315, TOEFL 110/120 - ICSE - 92.6% (10th); ISC - 92% (12th) KJSCE - B.Tech IT 8.5/10 (GPA) - Requirements: Yes, I had to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP), two Letters of Recommendation (LoRs), and my updated CV. I believe having strong SoPs and LoRs, along with a decent GPA, worked in my favor and compensated for my low GRE score. At CMU, SoPs and LoRs are extremely important. Additionally, I had a prerecorded invite-only interview that assessed basic topics such as introducing yourself and discussing your most successful projects.
Fees
$26,000/semester.
