It has been an amazing experience, filled with support systems that help me accommodate academically as well as culturally and personally.

Course Curriculum

10

I love that we have the freedom to chose our courses within certain guidelines. While there may not be a class focused on research techniques or with industrial exposure (to my knowledge), the huge amount of research opportunities make up for that quickly.

Exams

TOEFL 118/120, no GRE required. transcripts, recommendation letters, personal statement. SOP required, must mention why you want that program, previous preparation and career goals, 500 word limit. I feel here it’s important to show not only how you are a fit for the school but what are the specific factors that make the school a fit for you as well. CV is required, write down all the skills you think you have, try to make the format more dynamic, visually nice. I had no interviews or additional tests.

Placement

10

There are always career fair going on, as well as company visits. There are a lot of companies that are based here and so the opportunities are quite good. The salaries and companies may vary from program to program.

Internship

I am interested in finding one but have not found one yet.

Fees

Total per quarter comes up a bit higher than 12k USD. This includes tuition itself, services and tech fees and u pass which gives you access to all public transportation.

Scholarship

No, I have not received any scholarship at the moment.

Faculty

10

The average number of grad students that enrolls must be around 250 maybe (for all three graduate programs) and the faculty is quite big, around 20 professors currently. I feel like most of them are very approachable, both in terms of any course you’re taking with them as well as research related. They are always trying to get involved in activities with students and give them opportunities to grow.

Campus Life

This university truly has a bit of everything. Thanks to its location, the activities and sports are not limited to what can be done on an interior building or field, but there’s a lot of water sports, hiking, skiing. There’s also groups for any interest you may have, personally I have joined the choir which is very high level. The facilities and libraries are huge and have all the resources you may need, as well as the systems of support to help you find and make good use of those resources.

Hostel

10

There are a lot of options for housing, most around the 1,200-1,600 usd range, per month. University housing has some places for students who want to stay alone but most are housing opportunities with roommates. Buildings close by also have both 1bed apartments or studios, or roommate options, for around the same price. Depending on how much you’re depending to commute you may find something cheaper in other areas.
