What Students Say?

- I couldn’t afford my HBCU Oakwood University anymore so I moved to a public university that was cheaper and would allow me to learn more than I did before.
I love my university. I spend a lot of my time sitting by the water watching the birds fly over my head. The faculty especially in my department of social work are very understanding and they work with you. They listen to you and try to provide the best care they can, so that you can be successful.
Course Curriculum
I love it. Everything that is in the syllabus matches what is being taught in the classroom. No industrial exposure and research experience that was needed.
Exams
My scores were SAT 840. I didn’t have to add my resume to enter into my university, it wasn’t necessary.
Placement
I am not sure how many students are placed or how many research studies that are available, but we use Handshake to manage all of this information.
Internship
I haven’t opted into any internships yet.
Fees
$8,000 for me in loans.
Faculty
One teacher teaching roughly 25/30 students. Sometimes we have one teacher teaches 300 students. My social work professors are top tier, my first semester at my university Doctor Precious Osei changed my life. She taught in a way that my brain could stay focused for the full 1-2 hours.
Campus Life
As a commuter I try my best to go to class and hop on the train and go home. But they do have various clubs and extracurricular activities. I am involved in the students of social work leadership team now and I’m able to network with others.
Hostel
I live with my parents and I either take the train or I ride with my friends.
