- Its an R1 university. The temperature is perfect because it is in the south. The campus is very pretty, and the football team is huge
Required Exams for Admission
It is a beautiful campus and very good for studying in a a peaceful and quite environment. Although it is a small r1 you can make connections with other students. It is usually undergrad focused college though with a huge football team.
Course Curriculum
I am free to choose from a handful of courses. I usually choose it by recommendations of other students in the department. I am given a lab exposure which is very beneficial. There are also opportunities for seminars and conferences.
Faculty
It is around 20:1. They have an office time so that I can go ask questions.
Campus Life
A lot of clubs but usually centered towards undergrads and very less for grads even though you can join them but very difficult to manage time.
Placement
NA you have to go through job applications yourself. Although there are diff zoom sessions which can guide you through tailoring your resume and CV. You have to google search the companies and the job applications begin a year ahead. So be prepared for that.
Accommodation
The average rental for a 1 bhk apartment is 600$.
Exams
My GRE score 305, TOEFL score 102 which I gave in 2022. I did not do IELTS. The admission requirements were the regular CV, SOP and LOR. Its better if the GPA is above 3.5 to get a grad assistantship. CV SOP and LOR was submitted. Include your work experiences and professional engagement sections. Its better to include any research experience if you are in STEM. Yes, I had 2 calls on zoom with the professor for the interview.
Fees
$8000 per semester.
Scholarship
Yes, I am paid by the department for 20 hrs per week. My stipend is 18000$.
