Boston College fees for Indian students total $95,258 (INR 90.90 Lakhs) per year for undergraduates and roughly $103,000 to $108,000 (INR 98.28 to 1.03 Crore) per year for graduate programs in 2026-27. The Carroll School Full-Time MBA is billed at $35,195 (INR 33.58 Lakhs) per semester, the MS Finance and MS Accounting run $71,940 (INR 68.65 Lakhs) for the 30-credit program, and Morrissey College graduate arts and sciences programs charge $2,248 (INR 2.15 Lakhs) per credit hour.

Your realistic entry is the Fall 2027 intake (September 2027), because the Fall 2026 term has already begun and the US F-1 student visa needs 6 to 10 weeks of processing. Boston College does not offer a January intake for undergraduates; a limited number of graduate programs open in Spring 2028 (January 2028) as the next option after Fall 2027.

  • Undergraduate tuition (2026-27): $75,070 (INR 71.63 Lakhs) per year, same rate across every major
  • Undergraduate total cost of attendance: $95,258 (INR 90.90 Lakhs) covering tuition, room, board, and fees
  • Full-Time MBA (Carroll School): $35,195 (INR 33.58 Lakhs) per semester, $70,390 (INR 67.17 Lakhs) per year
  • MS Finance and MS Accounting (Carroll): $2,398 (INR 2.29 Lakhs) per credit, $71,940 (INR 68.65 Lakhs) total for 30 credits
  • Morrissey College MA / MS programs: $2,248 (INR 2.15 Lakhs) per credit, roughly $67,440 (INR 64.35 Lakhs) for a 30-credit master’s
  • Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program: Full four-year tuition plus guaranteed housing plus three funded summer programs, 18 recipients per year, open to internationals

All INR values in this article are computed at 1 USD = 95.42 INR.

Fall 2027 Intake: Planning Cycle Open

Intake: Fall 2027 is the realistic entry point for anyone applying from India now. Undergraduate Early Decision I closes 1 November 2026, Early Decision II closes 4 January 2027, and Regular Decision decisions release by 1 April 2027. Graduate rounds run through spring 2027 depending on the school.

Fee update: The current published 2026-27 rate is $75,070 (INR 71.63 Lakhs) for undergraduate tuition, driven by a 3.76 percent increase. The Fall 2027 cohort will be billed at the 2027-28 rate that trustees typically announce in April; project approximately $77,900 (INR 74.32 Lakhs) tuition on the 3.76 percent trend.

When to pay: Confirmation deposit is due within two weeks of admission for undergraduates, and by the school-specific deadline for graduate offers, typically April to June 2027 for Fall 2027.

Scholarships: The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program (full-tuition) uses the 1 November 2026 Early Decision I deadline, no separate application. External Indian awards Inlaks, JN Tata, and KC Mahindra open between January and April 2027 for the Fall 2027 cycle.

Boston College Tuition Fees by Programme

Boston College charges a single flat undergraduate tuition rate across every major, while graduate schools price per credit or per semester depending on the programme. The 2026-27 rate applies to students currently enrolled and to the Spring 2027 intake; Fall 2027 admits will pay the 2027-28 rate.

Undergraduate Cost Breakdown: Boston College 2026-27

Tuition is identical for a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The published cost of attendance bundles tuition, mandatory fees, standard room, and standard board.

Cost Component Annual (USD) Annual (INR)
Undergraduate Tuition $75,070 INR 71.63 Lakhs
Mandatory Fees, Standard Room, Standard Board $15,465 INR 14.76 Lakhs
BC Student Health Insurance Plan $4,723 INR 4.51 Lakhs
Published Cost of Attendance $95,258 INR 90.90 Lakhs

Graduate Programme Fees: Boston College 2026-27

Graduate fees vary by school. The Carroll School of Management is the most expensive on a per-credit basis; the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Social Work run lower. Programme lengths differ, so read the total column, not the per-credit rate, when comparing.

Programme Rate (USD) Programme Total (USD) Programme Total (INR)
Full-Time MBA (Carroll School) $35,195 per semester $140,780 (2 years) INR 1.34 Crore
MS in Finance (Carroll School) $2,398 per credit $71,940 (30 credits) INR 68.65 Lakhs
MS in Accounting (Carroll School) $2,398 per credit $71,940 (30 credits) INR 68.65 Lakhs
MA and MS Programmes (Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences) $2,248 per credit $67,440 (30 credits) INR 64.35 Lakhs
MSW (School of Social Work) $1,494 per credit $95,616 (64 credits, full) INR 91.24 Lakhs

Note: The Carroll School Full-Time MBA is charged per semester, not per credit, so summer coursework does not add tuition. For MSF and MSA, one course typically equals three credits, so a five-course semester adds $35,970 (INR 34.32 Lakhs) to your bill, useful for setting aside instalment amounts before the semester opens.

Boston College Fee Trend by Year

Boston College tuition has risen 3.5 to 4.3 percent annually over the last three published years. Total cost of attendance, which includes room and board, has tracked slightly lower because housing and dining have grown at moderated rates.

Academic Year UG Tuition (USD) UG Tuition (INR) Total COA (USD) YoY Change
2024-25 $69,400 INR 66.22 Lakhs $88,632 +4.3%
2025-26 $72,180 INR 68.87 Lakhs $91,792 +3.5%
2026-27 $75,070 INR 71.63 Lakhs $95,258 +3.76%

Key Insight: The Fall 2027 intake will be billed at the 2027-28 rate, projected at roughly $77,900 (INR 74.32 Lakhs) based on the three-year average. Budget an extra INR 2.5 to 3 Lakhs per year over the current published number, and factor that same increase into every subsequent year of a Bachelor’s plan.

Cost of Living in Chestnut Hill for Indian Students

Chestnut Hill is an affluent suburb of Boston, about eight kilometres from downtown. Boston College’s own published 2026-27 living cost estimate for graduate students is $29,138 (INR 27.80 Lakhs) for the nine-month academic year, before health insurance.

Expense Monthly (USD) Monthly (INR) Annual (INR, 9 months) Notes for Indian Students
Housing (off-campus rent, standard room) $1,911 INR 1.82 Lakhs INR 16.42 Lakhs On-campus BC housing is included in undergraduate room and board; graduate students rent locally
Food and Groceries $663 INR 63,264 INR 5.70 Lakhs Cooking at home is 40 to 50 percent cheaper than the BC dining plan for grads
Transportation $200 INR 19,084 INR 1.72 Lakhs MBTA Green Line B stops at BC; a student CharlieCard reduces this further
Personal Expenses $294 INR 28,053 INR 2.53 Lakhs Includes clothing, phone, entertainment, laundry
Books and Supplies $144 INR 13,740 INR 1.24 Lakhs Buy used through the BC Bookstore or rent to save 30 to 50 percent
Health Insurance (annual) - - INR 4.20 Lakhs Boston College Student Health Insurance Plan is mandatory unless waived with a comparable US plan
Total Living (Nine-Month Basis) - - INR 32.00 Lakhs Includes health insurance

Note: These figures assume a shared apartment within walking or Green Line distance of campus. Studios in Chestnut Hill and Brighton typically run $2,400 to $2,900 (INR 2.29 to 2.77 Lakhs) per month, so a solo apartment adds INR 4.5 to 8 Lakhs per year over the standardised figure.

Currency Tip: Your first tuition instalment for the Fall 2027 intake falls due before I-20 issuance, roughly May 2027. Book USD in tranches during weak-rupee days between the January 2027 admission letter and the May 2027 deadline; a 2 to 3 percent rupee swing on a $70,000 semester bill is INR 1.5 to 2 Lakhs saved.

Total Cost of Studying at Boston College for Indian Students

Total Year 1 cost lands at INR 94.75 Lakhs for undergraduates and INR 99 Lakhs to 1.03 Crore for graduate students, depending on programme.

Scenario Tuition Living and Health Mandatory Fees (Visa, SEVIS) Total Year 1 (INR)
Undergraduate (on-campus, 10-month basis) $75,070 (INR 71.63 Lakhs) Included in COA (INR 19.27 Lakhs) $535 (INR 51,050) INR 91.41 Lakhs
Full-Time MBA (Carroll, 12-month basis) $70,390 (INR 67.17 Lakhs) INR 32.00 Lakhs $535 (INR 51,050) INR 99.68 Lakhs
MS Finance / MS Accounting (Carroll, 12-month basis) $71,940 (INR 68.65 Lakhs) INR 32.00 Lakhs $535 (INR 51,050) INR 1.01 Crore
MA / MS Morrissey College (30 credits, 12-month basis) $67,440 (INR 64.35 Lakhs) INR 32.00 Lakhs $535 (INR 51,050) INR 96.86 Lakhs

Key Insight: A Fall 2027 MBA admit who earns a 50 percent Carroll School merit scholarship, common under the 90+ percent aid rate the school reports, cuts the two-year tuition bill from INR 1.34 Crore to INR 67 Lakhs. That is a controllable saving worth roughly INR 66 Lakhs, achieved simply by submitting the standard application ahead of the Round 1 deadline.

Boston College Scholarships for Indian Students

Boston College is need-aware for international undergraduate applicants and offers no federal aid, but merit scholarships, university fellowships, and PhD funding are open to Indian students. The Carroll School reports that 90+ percent of Full-Time MBA, MSF, and MSA students receive some scholarship.

Boston College University Scholarships and Fellowships

External Indian Scholarships Open for Boston College Applicants

These four Indian awards cover Boston College across the humanities, sciences, and management, and typically release their calls between January and April 2027 for the Fall 2027 intake.

Scholarship Value Typical Deadline
Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship Up to $100,000 (INR 95.42 Lakhs) total Mid March 2027
J.N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship INR 3 to 10 Lakhs low-interest loan-scholarship Mid March 2027
K.C. Mahindra Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad Up to INR 10 Lakhs End March 2027
Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Loan Scholarship Up to INR 20 Lakhs interest-free Early April 2027

Tip for Indian Students: For a Fall 2027 undergraduate seat with the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program in play, submit the Common Application under Early Decision I by 1 November 2026, which is your only shot at the full-tuition award. For grad admits, keep the Boston College offer letter ready by January 2027 so that Inlaks and J.N. Tata applications, both closing mid-March 2027, can go in on time.

Boston College Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

The Boston College enrolment deposit is $500 (INR 47,710) for undergraduate admits and secures your seat, counts toward first-semester tuition, and is required before Boston College issues the I-20, the document needed for the F-1 Student Visa. Graduate deposits vary by school and are listed on each offer letter, typically $500 to $2,000 (INR 47,710 to 1.91 Lakhs).

Methods of Payment for International Students at Boston College

  • Bank wire transfer from an Indian bank through SWIFT to Boston College’s designated bank; expect INR 1,500 to 3,000 in wire charges plus a foreign-exchange margin
  • Flywire international payment platform, Boston College’s preferred third-party provider for international students; posts to your account within two to three business days and typically saves 1 to 2 percent versus a raw wire
  • Forex card loaded with USD (SBI, HDFC, Axis) for smaller graduate instalments; saves the 2 to 3 percent bank margin on a wire
  • Education loan disbursement directly to Boston College from HDFC Credila, Avanse, Auxilo, or a public-sector bank; provide the university’s Flywire link or bank details to the lender

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students at Boston College

  1. Accept the offer through the Boston College Agora portal and confirm your enrolment
  2. Pay the $500 (INR 47,710) enrolment deposit within the deadline printed on your offer letter, typically two weeks
  3. Receive the I-20 by courier or through the Agora portal; pay the $350 (INR 33,397) SEVIS I-901 fee, then book the F-1 visa appointment
  4. Pay the first-semester balance by the Boston College billing due date, typically early August for Fall and early January for Spring
  5. Keep every bank remittance receipt and Form A2 for both the visa file and the Liberalised Remittance Scheme reporting

Boston College bills semester-by-semester; there is no single-shot annual discount, and payment plans through the Boston College Office of Student Services split each semester into monthly instalments at no interest.

Tip for Indian Students: For the Fall 2027 intake, aim to pay the enrolment deposit within one week of admission and complete the first-semester wire by mid-July 2027. A wire from India can take five to eight business days to clear, and Boston College will not release the I-20 amendments or campus housing keys until the deposit is confirmed.

Hidden Costs of Studying at Boston College

The published $95,258 (INR 90.90 Lakhs) undergraduate cost of attendance and the graduate cost sheets exclude several one-off and recurring costs that hit in the first four months.

  • Time-sensitive for Fall 2027 admits: One-way air ticket to Boston Logan (BOS) in August 2027 costs INR 55,000 to 90,000 depending on booking window; book by March 2027 for the lower band
  • US F-1 Visa MRV fee: $185 (INR 17,653) plus SEVIS I-901 fee $350 (INR 33,397), together INR 51,050, paid before the visa appointment
  • Initial setup on arrival: Winter clothing, bedding, kitchen basics, and mobile phone plan run INR 90,000 to 1.5 Lakhs in the first month
  • Boston College Student Health Insurance Plan: $4,723 (INR 4.51 Lakhs) per year, charged automatically and hard to waive without a US-based comparable plan
  • English-language testing: TOEFL iBT $200 (INR 19,084) or IELTS INR 17,000; expect one retake if scores fall short of Boston College’s minimum
  • Cross-border wire and forex margin: A $70,000 (INR 66.79 Lakhs) semester wire loses INR 1 to 2 Lakhs to bank spreads and TCS at 5 percent above the INR 7 Lakhs Liberalised Remittance Scheme threshold; TCS is refundable but locks up cash for a year

Budget approximately INR 8 to 12 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs on top of the published cost of attendance.

Note: The single biggest hidden cost Indian families forget is the 5 percent Tax Collected at Source on foreign remittances above INR 7 Lakhs per financial year. On a $75,000 (INR 71.57 Lakhs) tuition wire, TCS of roughly INR 3.23 Lakhs is locked with the Income Tax Department until refunded through the next ITR filing. Plan cash flow for this year-long float.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students at Boston College

The single most urgent lever for a Fall 2027 admit is submitting an Early Decision I application by 1 November 2026, which makes you eligible for the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program worth full four-year tuition, roughly INR 3 Crore over four years.

  • Apply Early Decision I for undergraduate: Gabelli Presidential Scholars picks 18 students per year from the ED I pool and covers full tuition plus housing for four years
  • Target Carroll School graduate merit aid: 90+ percent of MBA, MSF, and MSA students receive some scholarship; a 25 to 50 percent award saves INR 17 to 68 Lakhs across the programme
  • Consider Boston College PhD track over Master’s: Morrissey College fully funds PhDs with tuition waiver plus $37,500 (INR 35.78 Lakhs) annual stipend, so a research-oriented Indian applicant pays nothing in tuition
  • Use Section 80E of the Income Tax Act: Interest paid on an Indian education loan is fully deductible for eight years, effectively cutting a 10.5 percent education loan to roughly 7 to 7.5 percent post-tax
  • Work on-campus up to 20 hours per week: F-1 visa permits on-campus employment; Boston College student jobs pay $15 to $22 per hour, worth $6,000 to $9,000 (INR 5.73 to 8.59 Lakhs) per academic year
  • Apply for OPT after graduation: STEM-designated Master’s programmes (MSF, MSBA, MS Applied Analytics) grant three years of post-study work on OPT, giving three earning years to offset loan EMI before returning to India

Tip for Indian Students: For a Fall 2027 MBA admit, the highest-value lever is a Round 1 application by mid-October 2026. Round 1 candidates are considered first for Carroll School merit scholarships, and a 50 percent award on the two-year MBA saves INR 67 Lakhs, more than double the value of any external Indian scholarship listed above.

Boston College fees for Indian students total INR 91.41 Lakhs for undergraduates and INR 96.86 Lakhs to 1.01 Crore for graduate programmes in Year 1, driven by the 2026-27 tuition of $75,070 (INR 71.63 Lakhs) for Bachelor’s and $2,248 to $2,398 (INR 2.15 to 2.29 Lakhs) per credit for graduate programmes. The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program, Carroll School merit awards averaging 90+ percent coverage, and fully funded Morrissey PhD packages together drop the effective bill by 25 to 100 percent for a well-timed Fall 2027 application. Submit the Early Decision I undergraduate application by 1 November 2026, or a Carroll School Round 1 graduate application by mid-October 2026, to activate the highest-value scholarship rounds.

FAQs

Ques. What is the total fee for Boston College for Indian students in 2026-27?

Ans. The published cost of attendance for undergraduates is $95,258 (INR 90.90 Lakhs) per year, covering tuition, fees, room, and board. Full-Time MBA students at the Carroll School pay $70,390 (INR 67.17 Lakhs) tuition per year plus roughly $33,540 (INR 32.00 Lakhs) in living and health insurance, totalling INR 99.68 Lakhs in Year 1.

Ques. Is Boston College affordable for Indian students without a scholarship?

Ans. An unfunded four-year undergraduate degree comes to roughly $381,000 (INR 3.64 Crore) at current rates, which is unaffordable for most Indian families on loans alone. Most Indian admits either qualify for the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program (full tuition), receive Carroll School graduate merit aid at 25 to 100 percent, or combine family funding with a partial education loan.

Ques. How much scholarship money does Boston College offer to Indian students?

Ans. The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program awards full four-year tuition plus housing plus three funded summer programs to 18 undergraduates per year, worth roughly INR 3 Crore over four years. Ans. Boston College is need-aware for international undergraduate applicants and offers no federal aid to Indian students, but limited institutional grants exist. Merit scholarships (Gabelli, Carroll School awards) and PhD funding are fully open to internationals; graduate-level aid rates are the highest, with Carroll School reporting 90+ percent scholarship coverage.

The curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts degree includes a base requirement of liberal arts courses which is followed by your choice of courses within your specific area of study.
