What MAIML MEng and MIDS actually mean

The three programmes sit in two different Berkeley schools and answer three different career questions. MEng EECS is a professional 1-year master’s from the College of Engineering. It pairs deep EECS coursework with a leadership and management block run by the Fung Institute. The degree ends with a capstone team project.

MIDS is the Master of Information and Data Science from the School of Information. It runs fully online with live weekly classes. Students keep working full-time while they study.

MAIML is Berkeley’s newest applied AI and machine learning master’s. It is aimed at applicants who want a focused AI degree without a research thesis.
