Salford is a leading regional UK center for engineering. The Mechanical Engineering degree course is designed to meet the requirements of the Engineering Councils Accreditation of Higher Education Programmes (AHEP), so students will be educated to the highest industry standards. In this program students will:
- Develop professional knowledge, design, and analytical skills towards Chartered Engineer status
- Study the relationships between microstructure and mechanical properties of materials, mechanisms of corrosion, and corrosion protection
- Gain an understanding of the concepts of engineering thermodynamics and finite element analysis
- Develop an appreciation for project timings, resource allocation, and the range of decision-making methods used by industry
