University of Portsmouth Architecture Courses

The School of Architecture at the University of Portsmouth approaches architectural design as a practical, ethical, and socially responsible process. Portsmouth focuses on architectural design, practice, history, and theory, and explores developments in various areas, including sustainable and low-carbon design. You will learn by working on live projects with clients as part of your coursework through the university’s Project Office.

Portsmouth’s strong design studio culture encourages students to experiment and test architectural boundaries in a relaxed, cooperative environment. Port’smouth’s postgraduate design studios offer students a test bed to develop and analyze design process theories.

You will have many opportunities to travel and learn overseas. Portsmouth has developed strong exchange programs and Erasmus opportunities and has close relationships with universities in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Slovenia.
