Academic Requirements

• A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent (60-65% or CGPA (6.0-6.5)/10 in Bachelor’s degree), in computer science or a discipline with significant computing content, such as: mathematics, engineering and systems engineering
• Applicants should also have a good background in computer systems, including programming.
• University will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications provided you have several years of relevant industrial computing experience.

Specialised Application Information

• As part of the application process, applicants are required to conduct a compulsory self-assessment of their programming skills using Rafael Poss’ matrix.
• Self-assessment Levels: Basic user: A1, A2, Independent user: B1, B2 and Proficient user: C1, C2
• For A1 or A2: No additional evidence needed (e.g., CV, personal statement).
• For B1 or higher: Provide evidence in your application (e.g., transcript, CV, personal statement) to support your self-assessment.
• Example Statement: Mention your score and provide evidence (e.g., high marks, open-source project involvement).
• Statement Limit: Maximum 400 words.
• Programming Skills: No minimum required, but limited programming experience may make it hard to fully engage in the course, as no programming modules are included.

English Proficiency Score

• IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills).
• TOEFLiBT and TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition 90 overall (with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing).
• PTE 70 overall (with a minimum of 59 in all sub-skills).
• Duolingo 125 overall (with a minimum of 105 in Writing, Reading, Speaking and 100 in Listening).
