Academic Requirements

  • You will normally have at least an upper second-class undergraduate UK honours degree (or international equivalent 65% or GPA of 7.0/10) in architecture from a RIBA School. 
  • Admission will normally be dependent on a successful application and possibly an interview.
  • You will also need to have completed at least six months work in an architectural practice or a related built environment design field.
  • A portfolio of work should be submitted with your application. We also require a concise letter of intent and two references, one from an academic from your previous institution, the other a reference from your current employer.
  • Other professional qualifications or degree disciplines will be considered on merit and/or with relevant professional experience.

  • IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any category
  • TOEFL iBT Overall score: 89 With no individual test score below: Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17
  • Pearson PTE 65, with no component below 59
  • India standard XII (CBSE and CISCE (ISC) exam boards only) - 70%

Tuition Fee Deposit

If you have met the entry requirements and accepted your offer to study at Manchester Metropolitan, you must pay a £5,000 tuition fee deposit to request your CAS and secure your place.

Documents Required

  • Copies of your academic transcripts and graduation certificates
  • At least 2 referees are required, one academic reference from your previous institution, the other reference from your current employer.
  • A concise letter of intent or personal statement introducing your academic interests, your interest in future dissertation subjects and an explanation of your reasons for wanting to study at the MSA.
  • A digital portfolio of work (maximum of 35 pages) should be submitted with your application, this can be sent to us using an online file transfer app such as Dropbox or WeTransfer. 
  • Evidence of work experience in an architectural practice or a related design field can be provided by your employer’s reference and in the submitted portfolio.
  • evidence of your English language proficiency

  • Your CV, if you have work experience that you need to mention.
