The MA in Modern History aims to enable applicants to develop:
- Knowledge and understanding of the approaches and methods used by historians from a range of sub-disciplines to study modern period.
- Training in specific research skills commensurate with their future career plans and continuing professional development.
- Confidence in handling a broad spectrum of primary evidence.
- An appreciation of a culturally and socially sensitive learning environment.
- The ability to analyze and evaluate theories and approaches to the study of the modern period.
- An understanding of the values of internationalization, global citizenship and sustainability, through reflection on the diversity of modern cultures.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Qualifications
- Applicants must have a 2:2 honours degree in History or a relevant discipline is required. Holders of other qualifications will be considered individually.
Indian Students Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a Bachelor of Arts degree of at least 3 years duration or a Professional Degree (4 years)
English Proficiency:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS Scores overall score of 6.5 with no element below 6.0.
