What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the new experience in Loughborough
- The teaching methods, syllabus covered was in line with the latest trend
- Entirely coursework based - no exams but had to learn more for each coursework which was very exciting
Dislikes
- The deadlines for each coursework was so short - so often two or more courseworks overlap and have to do more work at the same time
Course Curriculum
- The course was in line with the trend
- Yes, they had a real-time vehicle testing lab, which was our research ground -MIRA labs
- This course was split into modules wand each module happens over a span of a week, timing: 9 am to 6 pm, post which the time will be for its coursework
- The average number of students in my class was 45
Admission Experience
-
I chose Loughborough for the following reasons:
- One of the top universities in the UK
- It was not in one of the major cities, making it a better and cheaper choice
- The course was completely based on assignments, so self learning was more
Faculty
- The faculty are well-versed in their respective fields - they were always available for support. My project supervisor was Mr. Christopher Harvey; he was very supportive of my work and very easy to communicate with. He was a huge help to me and made me get more interested in my work.
Campus Life
- Loughborough University is sport based university, so the clubs were all sport-related. If you are interested in any sport, this university will provide you with the best support. The library is one of the few places I spent most of my time in - a very modern library with the latest requirements for every student.
Part Time Jobs
- The most common part-time job will be a warehouse operative, a shopkeeper - getting part-time work in university itself was difficult.
Placement
-
The university did not offer placements - they did conduct job events where we could interact with prospective employers.
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation through the university, John Phillips. I paid the fees in terms, and it cost around Rs. 4,00,000 for 3 months.
- It was an ensuite room with a common kitchen - communal cleaning happened weekly, so mostly we had to clean things ourselves and manage the entire floor with other floormates
Exams
- IELTS is required
- Documents submitted - IELTS certificate, B.E consolidated mark sheet, SoP, CV, Financial statement
Fees
- Rs. 40,00,000 for total expenses, including academics and living expenses.
