Master [Architectural Studies - Urban Design] From Glasgow School of Art

The programme begins with a series of core lectures and seminars, balanced by focused reading of key literature related to the four areas of enquiry. This enables all of the students on the programme to gain a multi-disciplinary perspective and provides ground for shared discourse.

Urban Design Aims

• To develop a critical understanding of the key cultural, social and economic issues that shape the urban environment.Ê

• To analyse the nature of a particular place (town or city) in order to devise strategies and visions for its future.Ê

• To devise and test solutions against local conditions and to reflect upon their applicability in global situations.
