Master [Architectural Studies - Energy and Environment] From Glasgow School of Art

The programme begins with a series of core lectures and seminars, balanced by focused reading of key literature related to the four areas of enquiry. This enables all of the students on the programme to gain a multi-disciplinary perspective and provides ground for shared discourse.

Energy and Environment Aims

• To develop a critical understanding of the key principles relevant to the creation of sustainable architecture.

• To gain an understanding of the physical parameters that determine the performance of buildings in terms of environmental efficiency, comfort and well-being, relative to function and climatic context.Ê

• To develop an ability to use appropriate analytical tools to make an innovative contribution to the design of sustainable, solar, bio-climatic or green architecture.
