What to do after applying at Singapore Universities?

Application processes, especially for international students, are very time-consuming. The procedure can often get very confusing and even overwhelming at times. Thus, after completing your application, you must remember a few key points:

  • Keep a track of your application: Usually, admission decisions are announced via the official university’s email. These mails often get lost in the spam folder. Thus, you must remember to regularly check your email and the spam folder for any official email.
  • Review your application: Once you have completed your application, remember to review it thoroughly before submitting. This ensures that there are no unnecessary errors which may affect your otherwise complete application.
  • Don’t panic if your admission decision is delayed: Universities usually announce their decisions within 1 to 2 months of receiving the application. However, if you don’t receive the notification by then, you must not panic. Sometimes universities take extra time due to the rush of applications. The admission decision can be delayed by a few weeks.
  • Keep backup options: Even though you may have plenty of chances of getting into your desired university, keeping backup universities in hindsight is always a good idea. Always try and apply at 4 to 5 different universities for your desired course.

The application process surely takes a lot of time for document submissions and all the formalities. Thus, it is always advisable for international students to try and submit their applications a little earlier than the deadline. This way, they will hear from the university on time, and they can then carry on to apply for their student visas, work permits, and other important documentation for studying in Singapore.
