Course Curriculum Overview

3

Since I had a dream to become a software engineer so I was actively looking for the colleges in odisha state and came to know that the college is good enough to study and is situated in the centre of the city of Bhubneswar and also has average placements and decent campus. Coming to curriculum , the entire structure is predefined and by the state university and every college whichever falls under this university has the same curriculum designed. The curriculum is based on old technology and old school development but you can make your skills by yourself. The board of University should look into the current market and make a new curriculum based on which the companies are hiring so that their students should shine. Exams timing are strict as it is a state board and ther question papers are also good and their is a huge security when it comes to leaking of question paper.

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year- 110000 2nd year- 10600 3rd year- 106000 4th year- 106000 In first year you have to give an extra of 10,000 as a security money. If you opted for hostel then the hostel will be charged 65000-67000 a year. If you can show any low income proof of the family then the college will consider giving you some discounts in college fee. If you have any state scholarships then you can ask college for the bonafide to apply the scholarship program.

Campus Life

Annual fest is Tech Fest in which many activities are done including various type of sprots such as badminton. Volleyball, cricket , chess, arm wrestling and many more. You guys and go ahead and participate in more than 20 different types of actives from dance to anything . Every departments have their own clubs and they celebrate their clubs in their in ways. Night DJ and many more sone where teaches along with students enjoy and Participate. Faculties do ther job well but it is at the end at the students hand to make sure that is make most of his skills for the respective professors. If the students interact well enough with the respective HODs them there will be a high chance that he will hurt good marks in their internals and also get top chance to participate in the few placement drives occurring in the college. So make sure you be interactive with the respective subject faculties. Every now and then college organise intra and inter college sports competition in which various sports such as cricket, volleyball, badminton, chess, table tennis, and many more are done well and various different student all across then city come to your college to participate or you go to their college to participate. Itna very enjoyable moments if you participate in these competitions. As far as my knowledge student can have a small group of productive people where they are making some realistic approach for the projects to submit but a studemt group to discuss politics and religious thing is not accepted . You can form a group to play basket ball and your college will help to organise the matches with rhe different colleges.

Hostel Facilities

On the first year I took hostel as I was alone in the unknown city and it's a good thing to take hostel in atleast in your first year of graduation so that you'll make good friends that will help you in throughout the good and bad times in the entire graduation program. It is the hostel where you guys will grow up and enjoy the best time of you life and will know what's the realty of this world. Of course the hostel food is not good but still it's okay to eat and you get a 3 sharing room with mattress and beds along with attached washroom with selves to keep you belongings . Rooms are clean and washrooms are also clean and every day or a gap in day your room and washroom gets cleaned . So there will be absolutely no issue in hygiene. The entire boys hostel is very ventilated so it's very good to inhale Greg air. Although the food is not that good but the location of hostel is prime and easy to access airports and railways station and also the hostel is itself in the college campus so need to worry about how you'll go to the college, it's just a 3-4 mins walk from hostel to college. Once you stay in hostel and find out all information about the city ghr you guys can shift to flat or anywhere near to campus to get better food . The hostel campus also have a volleyball and badminton court where you can play after dinner or anytime whenever you wish.

Admission

I applied for mostly in Delhi Jamia Millia Islamia college, Aligarh Muslim university, GITA, Silicon, CV Raman college, KIIT, I got seats in every college except Jamia Milia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University. In Aligarh Muslim University I got the seat and last cut of round as I was option only for computer science and engineering departments but I already took admission in College of Engineering Bhubaneswar as in 2nd round I got my seat alloyed so I didn't waited much to join and simply ran forth college after reading couple of decent reviews. I got rejections from Jamia Millia Islamia and also got rejections from Aligarh Muslim University first but at last round Aligarh Muslim University gave me a chance but till then I have already took the admission. Admission process is very smooth , just simply enroll for OJEE counselling and enter you college name and if you have that marks then easily process will follow up, moreover if you miss counselling than simply go to the college and tell them that you want to take admission and they will guide you how to make your admission process smooth. It's a literally very easy process. And even if you have low marks or very low marks then also you can simply go to the college and they will make sure you get the admission there. But don't forget to negotiate the fee structure, there is a high chance of discount if you negotiate with the fee structure.

The college is registered under BPUT means it is registered under state board so the curriculum for the entire state board colleges are same. Moreover the curriculum needs to be updated as their are very old concepts and technological that are still being taught in the class. Coming to facalties, if you interact with faculties they will respond you well and whene you start listing to the faculties they will make sure you have a chance to stand on top in the placement drives occurring in last year. Although the placements are extremely low but still their will the chance. One of my favourites HOD was Bivas Ranjan Parida who has extremely deep knowledge on technology and he is was the one with whom I had a great bond and he was the one who helped to get the knowledge of coding. Also you have good labs of all departments and the lab assistance is also good if you push the faculties to teach you otherwise they won't show and interest in teaching you. So coming to exams so as the college is registered under state government so the exams are strict and 5 papers occurs in every semester. Since it is a state government universitiy registration so there in no chance of paper leak as the question paper comes with Great security.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs
