What Students Say?
Likes
- The professional expertism of the faculty, their teaching helps us to understand vast areas of topics and ensure we gain the required skills to move forward. Girls to boys ratio is almost 50-50 and majority of them are north Indians.
- Intiative by seniors and 2nd years for organizing several events on their own, by gaining themsleves responsibilities and management skills which will be helpful in future.
Dislikes
- Lack of a proper location, as the college is in a 6- story building wedged in the heart of the city, which feels more conjusted.
- Lack of proper ventilation system in most of the rooms, which makes it hard sometimes to sit long durations in class.
Course Curriculum Overview
BCOM offers a wide variety of skills and knoweldge in some vast areas of finance, accounting, business related subjects which offer a good skill base for students. BCOM can offer some very good salary packages ranging from 3.5 LPA to almost 6-7 LPA as per my knoweldge in college. Timing of exams are very convenient, but studying for them can be a little difficult as you have the entire book as your syllabus for the exam, but the final semester exams are relatively easy to moderate to crack.
Internships Opportunities
Many internships are available and we will be guided step-by-step by a training and placement officer. We will be informed via g-mail about various internship opportunities. Majority of the companies are start-ups, who pay interns upto 10-15k stipend per month, depending on the nature and the position of the work the stipend amount depends.
Placement Experience
We are eligble for placements from the 3rd year or from 5th semester onwards. Very major companies have been visited, some of them include IBM, Deloitte, Goldmann-Sachs, Amazon, HP, Cognizant and much more. Highest recorded package as per my knoweldge was around 9,00,000 per annum to a student, which i dont remember the details about. Almost everyone if they show interest in going through training by the college, they get placements Mostly after degree will secure a well-playing job, otherwise pertaining to some personal matters, I may study abroad as well.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Year Wise for my BCOM course i am paying 1,40,000 per year, which is for 3 years and total amounts upto 4,25,000 for the 3 year course. My college offers some specialization courses, which i dont have a lot of information about, its known as ACCA, which is to essentially prepare for accounting. And they pay 10,000 extra than regular students, so it becomes 1,60,000 per year for students who apply for those courses while taking admission.
Campus Life
Campus life is good, not much to say but offers a nice library, an indoor games area, a well-equipped computer lab. In the library, almost any book pertaining to management, finance or accounting or any other topics are well-maintained and widely available in the library. Currently, there are no sports being offered in our college, but every year a sports day is held, where we rent a huge stadium-ground to host our celebrations. Other events include Freshers, Ethnic Day, French Day and other management-related events to showcase our talents by becoming entrepreneurs or running our own stalls, either food or products. Student clubs include, Social, Photography, Sports, Literary, Management clubs.
Admission
I tried to apply to Christ University in Bangalore for the same course. I only intially enquired through call about the details of my course, but never applied due to some personal issues, mainly due to distance as it was around 600 kms from home. I directly applied through this college as 2 of my friends from my previous school had taken admission here for BBA . It was also close from my residence. Its not a very complicated process of admission, we just have to pay around 25,000 upfront to block our seat during admission and later parents get invited for a registeration program which involves paying the first term fees and signing some documents pertaining to following all the college rules, and submit the documents that are being asked by the college during admission.
Faculty
Faculty-Student relationship is te best in terms of both hospitality and professionalism. They are very much approachable and free to talk with about any issues concerning subjects. In my point of view, i liked all the teaching style and way of conducting classes by the faculty which enabled us to be engaged in classes to listen. To mainatain confidentiality, i am not going to disclose names of any faculty and I personally have no problems at all. Every semester you have a final exam and before that you have 2 internal examination within the semester that are for 10 marks and you have lab practicals as well which is taken by a external examinator.
