What Students Say?
Likes
- It is a student centric college and chases that approach throughout your college life. Students are at the heart of any decision or any event.
- Various SM clubs that organize tech and non-tech events throughout the year. Various NGO drives are also a part of it.
Dislikes
- Less qualified teachers for some of the subjects.
Course Curriculum Overview
* The curriculum is designed keeping in mind the latest trends and courses. GSFC provides various electives along with the course, which was my reason for selecting this university. * The curriculum along with after semester internship provides students with enough knowledge to apply or start with in the real world. * More onboarding of good professors so one professor doesn't have to share the load of teaching more than one subject. * The timings of exams and frequency were okay. The one thing that needs a little improvement in my opinion is that the assignments should be given to students in the starting of semester only. After mid terms the schedule of students becomes very hectic due to assignments from all subjects at once and practical exams and end term exam preparation.
Internships Opportunities
* Student has to get an internship after every semester in GSFC. The University can help for a one month internship. This internship is usually unpaid till the 7th semester. If the student finds an paid internship themselves then university takes it into consideration. After 7th semester, the paid internships start. The average pay per month is rupees 5000. And in 8th semester internship, the average pay is rupees 10,000 per month. * There are various companies that offer internships such as Redspark, PMC, Rishabh, Svaapta Ally, etc. And roles can be developer, QA, BA, designer, etc. as per student's profile. * Apart from internships, student can also pick up a project under GUIITAR during internship month.
Placement Experience
* Students can become eligible for placement after completing their 3rd year of college. * Approximately 10-12 companies visited from Vadodara and other offers also came in from companies outside vadodara and even Gujarat. * As per my knowledge, the highest package offered is of 6LPA till now. * Through college placements, the try is to place all the students but the percentage of students placed (who opted for placements and not masters) are 80%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for my course is 55,500 rupees per semester. 52,500 is the tuition fees and 3,000 is the exam fees. The admission fees charged during intake is rupees 5,000/-. There is no scholarship from university but admission cell can help you with MYSY scholarship application.
Campus Life
* The annual techfest of GSFC university is called Ananta and it is held in the former months of the year. It is held for three days. It includes cultural nights and DJ nights as well along with various tech events, non-tech events and workshops. * Library has several necessary books, although the range of books is less. * Almost all the classes have projector systems with it. Apart from it there is a new building (NLB) consisting of all the labs. * GSFC offers gym facility and has recently build a court for basketball and volleyball as well. A tournament for cricket is also held yearly. * All the clubs are student managed and there are almost 20-25 clubs currently active. Such as Theatre club, music club, code club, environment club, Aiche student chapter, etc.
Hostel Facilities
* Three sharing rooms with three beds, three cupboards, study table, chairs, bathroom. Students are given one washing machine per floor to wash their clothes. There is an attached balcony to all the rooms as well. Apart from it, there are cloth hangers in wash area as well. Hostel also has some exercise equipments and games for students. * The meal quality is good and the menu is decided by the students on biweekly basis. * You can directly visit hostel or contact the hostel facility Ms. Dharti for accomodation.
Admission
* I applied to parul University, VVP and government college. I got in in almost all of them but I chose this college as I had gotten a good review from a friend who recommended this college. * The admission process is pretty simple. You can apply through ACPC, as I did, or you go directly go to GSFC and enquire about the college and admission process. The admission cell will guide you and give you a tour of the college too.
Faculty
* The faculty to student ratio is like 1:30 at least. However, it may have increased today as new student intakes take place. The qualified faculty to student ratio might be 1:50 now. * Zalak kansagra is a great faculty mentor overall. Other than her, some more knowledgeable faculties are Ms. Archana Magare, Ms. Bharti trivedi and Ms. Swati saxena. * None * In a semester there are 2 exams, mid terms and end terms. There are usually 5 or 6 subjects in one semester and one subject is credit based. Mid term exams are easy to mid and end terms are easy to pass and score well.
Interview Experience
* I applied through ACPC so there weren't any Group discussions, interviews or written tests given for my admission. Apart from it, I believe GSFC doesn't take any interviews or tests for admissions so student can direclty apply there directly.
