Course Curriculum Overview

4

Here only thing I want to suggest that aktu should check our answer sheets with more care. In course curriculum they should add more practical learning for students, more focus should be on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge, because practical learning let's us understand easily in more interactive way. When we implement what we think and what we read it enhances our area of knowledge. Private colleges should stop treating colleges as schools The same 7*1 hour lectures, it is boring and it wear out the students. At this stage of life we need space and free will to do things so we can explore ourselves along with our studies because this is the stage of life where we start to take things seriously

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Every time internhip starts at the end of 6th sem or 3rd year and companies visit college for internship programs but this year no companies are visiting we have to find internship by ourselves and for which college will provide NOC only when we give proof of our internship to the college. I have already cleared this ITM is not for practical knowledge, here you are your own master.

Placement Experience

2

From 7th semester or as the the 4th year starts companies start visiting the college for placements. Criteria is simple first written test, 2nd programming/coding test and last final interview. After clearing in written exam students are eligible for coding test and after clearing coding test they are eligible for interview. Often after passing 1st two rounds students are not called for interview because most companies put a cgpa criteria under which students with under a particular cgpa basically 7 cgpa are rejected for interviews. This happens because most companies who visit a college are mass recruiting companies like Wipro, ITC etc. Percentage of students getting placements is low because ITM has already destroyed cgpa of of most of there students and this happens every year to eliminate students before interview which reduces competition. ITM destroy students cgpa by failing them in internal exams.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

My annual fee is 75000 +7000 university exam fee and overall my course cost me about 1.4 lac annually. For general category there's no scholarship, for OBC, sc, st there is reservation that's why are eligible for government scholarship. And there is no financial aid to us.

Campus Life

0.5

As I mentioned before some rules are too much. ITM has ruined students social life because ITM is more like a school than a college. In school there was also fun and sports but in ITM they treat us like puppets, no extra curricular activities, no sports, no personal space and time for students. For this I will say ITM is the worst part of my life. Library is just for showing off. They don't let us enter library, college control us like puppets.

Admission

There are two modes of admission Direct and through counselling. Counselling gives you some fee reduction that's all. Reserved categories get guaranteed scholarship. After intermediate you are eligible to join the course. Some join the course only for degree. All is good is admission process only thing can be changed is colleges should not confirm application of those students who haven't scored even 60% in 10th 12th.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is a bit less. And this often impact our learning. There are some teachers who are useless because they do everything except teaching and they will take lectures also but don't teach. But most faculty members are genuinely good at there work. Approaching teaching faculty is piece of cake because they are are very supportive and dedicated for us students. But if you have any big issue which you can solve only with the help of hod or director then you will suffer. Our hod makes too much excuses. As I mentioned above some are exceptions but other faculty members are well qualified and dedicated. Only thing we students want is that teachers must give more attention to our practical leaning which I think faculty can't do because of the burden put on them from above.

Remarks:

The infrastructure of our college is of top quality. Facilities like classrooms, Wi-Fi, labs, etc, available in our college are good. Facilities are easily available to students. The library is too good for anyone to sit and study for long hours. Teachers in our college are very helpful, and they are always available to help us. They plan the schedule in a very effective way. Many teachers are PhD holders. They have good knowledge of their subjects, both practical and theoretical. The course curriculum is relevant, and it mainly focuses on what industry demands.

Its good college to pursue your btech if you are not getting iits, nits or top eminent institutes. An overall devlopment occurs here. You have a tag of goverment college precisely an old goverment institute.
