Course Curriculum Overview
I always have a thought in my mind of doing my post-graduation in finance in the future and most specifically from a good institute that has a brand within itself and when I get the opportunity in one the most renowned business institute of Kolkata I hardly ever have a second thought of not doing it. The experience has been terrific the faculties are too good to point out anything negative. The faculties have been very caring and very disciplined in their roles. The institute itself shows a lot of care and love toward its students which is currently very difficult to find in other B-schools.
Internships Opportunities
Deloitte US comes with a 1.5-month internship with a monthly stipend of 25000 and PRM Fincon a credit rating agency has visited us with a 2 months internship with a monthly stipend of 8500. A One Advisory has visited with a 2 months internship with a monthly stipend of 5000 and more are there like Dabur, ITC, Kantar, and many more.
Placement Experience
The placement this year is more than what we have all expected. Being a finance student I can at least say it proudly that at least 50% of our finance students are placed in the Big 4 which includes PWC AC & India, Deloitte US & India & EY. Various other credit-rating core finance companies have also visited our campus. Though not a marketing student but as per my knowledge various top companies and MNCs have come on campus and recruited a lot of our candidates at a decent package which includes Kantar, MRF, Pine Labs, Buyer foresight, and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the 2021-23 batch, the fee was 7.95 lakhs including the KPMG course which was only available for the Globsyn students at a very low price of 35000 which overall can be seen as a very good deal. The fees have been the same for the 2022-24 batch also as per my knowledge. There is several scholarships available for the students as per their merit and their financial conditions.
Campus Life
Being an active member of the KYLF board I enjoyed a lot these two years of mine in GBS. We enjoyed a lot of time by giving back a lot of love and care to society by being active in a lot of social causes. The two major programs of our b-school are Ananda Utsav from the KYLF side and the Student Council board Serendipity is the biggest program.
Admission
The admission process was very disciplined. Every student must give at least one entrance exam, for example, CAT, MAT, XAT, etc., and along with it, the person must clear the entrance exam of the college GAT. The application form is available on the online portal of the college. Up till now, the process is very satisfactory no need for any change.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was a GAT exam held by our college which we need to clear before sitting for an interview. The GAT exam was pretty moderate I would say not very tough though the student must be smart enough specially in the attic part to be clear. The PI round is easy if the student just is themselves they can easily crack it.
