Entrance Preview :
Admission is based purely on merit. One of the main attraction of the St. Albert's College (Autonomous) is its holistic approach to the Higher Education and Research. And the College is situated in the heart of the Kochi City. Another peculiarity is that the College Admission is based strictly on merit. Donation, bribing or recommendation is considered as disqualification of the candidate and College doesn't entertain it under any circumstances.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum was adopted from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam till last year but after the confirmation of the Autonomy, the College Academic Council updates the curriculum regularly. The curriculum is enabling the students to take up higher responsibilities. The curriculum is designed with the Industry so as to enable the students to be industry ready. The academic-industry collaboration is praiseworthy.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, Internship is provided. One of the major attractions of the College is its timing i.e. from 8.a.m. to 1.30.p.m. During afternoon hours students are encouraged to take up internships or jobs related to their learning. Courses like M.Sc. Space Science, M.B.A, M.S.W., Vocational Courses in Renewable Energy, Logistics Management and B.Sc./M.Sc. in Aquaculture and Industrial Fisheries do have internships in the Curriculum itself. The internships are offered in VSSC (Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre), CMFRI, CIFT, major MNCs, NGO and various renewable energy centres.
Placement Experience :
All the Professional courses like M.B.A, M.S.W, M.Sc. Space Science, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, M.Sc. Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture are having regular placement. The Placement and Career Assistance Support is provided to all the students who enrolls in any course. The Assistance is provided throughout the year. The final semester students are given industry readiness programs. The Major companies find the College as the best place to conduct the Campus placements drives even in the state because the College is situated in the City Centre and easily accessible by road, rail, water and air.

Almost all the major international and national days are celebrated in the College by the concerned Departments and the students gets opportunity to participate in it even if the student doesn't belong to that department. 6. Fee Structure And Facilities :
The College follows the Kerala State regulated fee structure and it is feasible. There is a stipulated guidelines by the competent authorities which the College strictly adhere to. The fees structure of the College is changed as per the guidelines and regulations by the state and university from time-to-time.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Around 70% of the students are availing the state scholarships and Kerala state and Central sector grants. The College is also having Common scholarships and Departmental scholarships.
Campus Life :
The Gender ratio is 60:40 (female:male). There is a major group of students from the North East (Meghalaya, Manipur, Assam etc.) studying in various courses. There are few students from North India (Chhattisgarh, Kolkata). College is having an Ethnic Research Group which organises regular programs on various Ethnic Communities (religious and linguistic), which helps the students to know about and to appreciate the various diversified Indian cultural heritage.
Hostel Facilities :
The College is having Post Graduate (PG) Hostel for the Boys. There are around nine to ten hostel facilities for boys and girls run by religious institutions and third parties. College PG Hostel as the name suggest allows only Postgraduate Students. The College Canteen facility is available.
Alumni/Alumna :
The college is having a good Alumni network which help to bring together the Alumni and present students. The Alumni of each department gathers annually and the College brings together everyone on special occasions.
Exam Structure :
The semester, though hectic gives ample opportunity to learn the topics. The regular internal exams, seminars, presentations, projects, viva-voice etc. helps to enrich the subject knowledge. Since the classes is scheduled only in Forenoon hours, the student get enough time to equip completely with academics and also to enjoy the College life.
Admission :
I was admitted on the basis of Merit. The College follows the admission process of the Kerala State. Therefore there is a weightage for backward communities. Admission is purely on Merit for B.A., B.Com., B.B.A, B.Sc. and M.Sc., M.A. and M.Com. courses. For M.S.W. applicant has to write the Entrance examination conducted by the college. For M.B.A. applicant should attend either CAT, CMAT or KMAT. For M.Sc. Space Science and M.Sc. Medical Microbiology, M.Sc. Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture admission is based on merit and interview. Faculty :
Nearly 60% of the faculties are into the Research. The faculties is one of the best in the State. The experienced teachers acts as mentors to guide students individually. The International experienced faculties open up the international opportunities for the students.
