I have a friend who is pursuing M.tech in Electronic systems engineering at IISc and a cousin who is pursuing M.tech at IITB too. So, I seem to be in the best position to compare IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore.
Ultimately, the final decision depends on what your prospects are and what you expect from your college life. If your main goal is to pursue full-scale research then IISc is the best place for you but if you also want to experience a great campus life and get placed then IIT Bombay will serve you better.
IIT Bombay is undoubtedly far better than IISc Bangalore in Microelectronics. It is important to understand that Microelectronics comprises sub-branches such as digital electronics, analog electronics, and devices/nanotechnology. Your choice of sub-branch will determine your course of study.
If you are interested in devices/nanotechnology, then one of the biggest advantages that IIT Bombay offers is infrastructure and facilities. IIT Bombay is the only institute in the country that has a clean room and advanced lab facilities, making it an ideal place to study devices and nanotechnology.
For digital electronics, IITB boasts the best possible faculty. The professors teaching digital electronics are not only respected within the institute, but they are also popular and renowned in leading industries. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the subject matter are encouraged and imparted to students.
IIT Bombay campus offers a plethora of extracurricular activities, making it an ideal choice for those who like to balance their academic and personal lives. With a diverse student body, you will find people from various backgrounds, adding to your learning and social experience. B.Tech students play a crucial role in organizing extracurricular activities, making them stand out as leaders.
There are many ECE branches that have great placements whereas some branches have below-average placements. So placements too depend on the nature of the branch rather than the department.

I had applied for the MS ECE at IIIT Hyderabad as I was interested in Robotics research. Around 22 candidates, including me, were scheduled for an interview that day and a few were absent.
I was interviewed at 4:30 pm. A total of 4 professors interviewed us. The professors first asked me if I sat for GATE and my performance in it. Then I was asked if I had applied for other colleges. When I told them that I rejected NIT Goa because of not so good placements over there, they asked me if I was interested in placements. To this I replied that I was not that interested in placements and my plan was to go into research.
Then they asked me about the field in which I wanted to do my research. I replied that I was interested in Robotics. I supported my answer by saying that I have done my final year project in robotics and worked in the automation department of Godrej. I was then asked what I would want to improve at my company. After this basic question-answer series, another professor of IIIT Hyderabad, who was into Robotics research, joined the panel. He went through my final year project report.
Meanwhile, the panel asked me about my strong subjects and the topics that I was well-versed in. I was asked to write equations and draw graphs on a blackboard and was questioned on the topics that I had selected. I chose to be questioned on Analog and Digital Communications, except the NOISE part.
The interview went for 25 minutes. The Robotics professor did not ask any questions and simply reviewed my project report. Overall, the interview experience was great and I cleared it and secured admission into IIIT Hyderabad.
Basically, a comparison between the colleges can be made according to the choices and interests of the students. The various factors are taken into consideration when we are choosing M.Tech in VLSI.

NIT Goa has affordable fees and decent placement offers can be a preferred option for many. So before making the choice weigh all the pros and cons before getting admission in the college.
To decide a course’s worth depends not only on the subjects dealt with but also on the aptitude/expectations of the student.
It would be good to keep in mind that power electronics is quite a vast field. Electronics Design and Technology is like any other specialization offered by NITC.
If you go in-depth you get to know that this course is a blend of VLSI and embedded/system design. If you are interested in the VLSI domain, then EDT is definitely your way. Most of the subjects are shared with Microelectronics & VLSI branches.

Okay, let us take a look at the placement scenario:
Though, the chance for placement in core companies directly is relatively less. But, if you manage to maintain your CGPA on or above 8 you have a chance to get into a good internship opportunity. There will be internship opportunities available in companies like Broadcom, Intel, and Cypress.
Most of these guys selected will be converted to full-time after one year of internship. You can do an internship and Second-year M.Tech main project at the same time. If you are really good you can also try for an internship from other branches like Telecom and Signal Processing.
My sister was a part of this course at IIT KGP and she found it extremely interesting and aligned with her interests. The course is industry oriented covering a number of topics like
Basically, all aspects of product design are covered under this course. In the First Semester, it covers topics related to Embedded systems, Control Engineering and Software Engineering and in the second semester, you are free to choose electives of your choice.
As far as placements are concerned, top big names like Robert Bosch, KPIT, Cognizant and Cypress Semiconductor visit the campus for placements.
However, interdisciplinary courses face a lot of issues during placements since this course is not known to many companies. This is because it falls under a different center named ATDC(Advanced Technology Development Center)
To prepare for the interview one needs to go through concepts of signals and systems, processors and controllers, C language, and Assembly language.
Despite the pandemic, NIT Surathkal placements for M.Tech VLSI have been decent over the last few years. According to the recent placement statistics, the median CTC for VLSI is INR 9.3 LPA. Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Oracle, and Ford Motors are the top recruiters for the branch.
The VLSI placement in NIT Calicut is average, with a slight low count in job offers, and a minimum of 50% internship offers. The table below gives a brief overview of M.Tech VLSI from NIT Calicut.

Key highlights:
Therefore, the placement in VLSI at NIT Calicut is average, but with some good internship and full-time conversion offers.
The MTech in VLSI program at ABV-IIITM, Gwalior is a two-year program with specializations in Advanced Networks, Digital Communication, and Information Security. The annual median salary across students is noted to be 5.8 LPA in 2019.
The stipend paid varies according to the company but as per the MHRD norms it amounts to Rs 8000. Some students have also received a stipend of Rs 12,400 as per AICTE norms. So it would be ideal to conclude that the stipend ranges from anywhere between Rs 8000 to Rs 12,400.
Students are required to perform intensive research about the type of companies that they are looking to work with, considering IIITM, Gwalior offers limited placements to students from the VLSI sector. The total fees for the course amount to 4.23 lacs whereas students are required to clear the GATE exams in order to be eligible for admissions.
