According to some of my friends studying there, NTTF is the best for technical courses. Here are some things I got to know from them:
Categories | NTTF |
Highest CTC | 6-8 LPA |
Average CTC | 4 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Lohia Corp., Gainwell Commosales, Schneider Electric, Timken Limited, etc. |
The job scope is scarce for this course in India as the tooling industry is unorganized. Therefore, the foreign placements are better than in-country. Overall, the institute is worthy enough for an interested student.
NTTF is a good institute for the Tool Design course. The PG is Tool Design is a one-year course. According to one of my friends studying at NTTF, make sure your foundations in mechanical engineering are strong. Also, here are some facts you should keep in mind before deciding:
Categories | PG Diploma in Tool Design at NTTF |
Course Fee | INR 78,000 |
Highest CTC | 5 LPA |
Average CTC | 1.5 LPA |
However, B.Tech degree is the best degree in the institute and it is very efficient in getting the students placed. A B.Tech degree from NTTF is respected by companies.
NTTF is a better option as my brother secured a job offer, on-campus with a decent salary.
The diploma from NTTF is really superior to a regular diploma. Their curriculum is updated according to the industry trends and needs. You will be given proper exposure through seminars, internships, and industry visits.
The alumni base is also very large and has well-established connections. It also provides you with the college tag, which you can later use during your representation.
However, you must be more than an average student to succeed; otherwise, it will be difficult. Hard work and perseverance are extremely important for this. So, if you have that confidence in yourself, do opt for NTTF.
Your answer depends on your willingness regarding your career plans. If you wish to pursue higher studies then you should give it a try as your career would start only when you have decided on it.
If you are looking for job opportunities as soon as your diploma ends then it would be a boost to your career. However, higher studies would help you in gaining better knowledge about your field.
As for the job opportunity, if it is your dream company or field of interest then pursuing it would not be a regretful decision. There are many universities offering weekend courses as well as part-time courses for several B. Tech and B.E.
On the completion of your diploma, you would definitely be exposed to better opportunities as you gain experience would be higher in comparison to your other fellow mates.
NTTF is a good option even if you are an average student. Let me tell you the experience of my friend who recently graduated from here.
He scored 45% in 12th with a science background. He was able to score 600 in the state-level exam. He chose Mechatronics and did well in academics. Currently, he is working with TATA Steel with 40,000 per month. The salary is a bit low but it is not bad when you are a fresher.
NTTF will be a good option if you are looking forward to pursuing a diploma. However, you must know that the institute is not recognized by AICTE currently. Thus, it will limit your opportunities to apply for any government jobs in the future.
IDTR and NTTF Jamshedpur are two institutes that provide various short and long-term diploma courses. While Tata Steel is a big brand that requires no introduction in the field of Iron and steel manufacturing. Here are some of the factors that you need to consider regarding your options.
Tata Steel- Tata Steel is a renowned multinational company specialized in steel making. It is a huge brand in itself. If you receive a placement here it would be a huge accomplishment for you as you would have the opportunity to work with several multi-talented people. The exposure you would experience there, is quite unparalleled.
IDTR(Indo danish tool room)- It is a government institute for the students who are graduates, intermediate or 10th pass outs. It is an institute for Design, Development & Manufacturing of Quality Tools & Components, Project Consultancy & Skill Development for such students. These are short-term courses in the field of electrical, civil, mechanical, electronics.
NTTF- It is an institute that offers several programs such as Diploma in Tool & Die Making (CP01), Diploma in Electronics (CP04), Diploma in Computer Engineering (CP08), Diploma in Mechatronics (CP15), Certificate Program in Electronics (CP-12). It is responsible for carrying out short-term programs for industries as well as institutes in Jamshedpur and around it.
Both IDTR and NTTF are great. It does not matter which institute you opt for, if you have the required skills you will get decent opportunities from both the institute. Also, if you are hard-working and have good skills, then you can definitely excel in Tata Steel. Now the final decision is yours.
No, I would not suggest you join Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) to pursue a PG Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The quality of education at the institute has been going down gradually over the past few years.
There has been no improvement in the infrastructure in the past few years. The institute does not have well-equipped laboratories. The workshops do not have the required resources to offer to the students of the institute. You would not be able to gain any experience in the practical application of all the concepts in the course.
Do not be fooled by the marketing and promotional banners and pamphlets of the institute. The companies mentioned in these promotional activities used to visit the campus years ago for recruitment purposes. Now, hardly a few of them visit the campus.
NTTF is particularly renowned for its practical-oriented learning pedagogy. In fact, the curriculum has more practical learning than any theory at all. However, here are some points to take into consideration.
The major pitfall that many people anticipate is that diploma courses do not have many options for a job. Thus, choose after you have researched more about your prospects.
NTTF diploma program is recognized by the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala. As per the Govt. rules, you will be eligible for a lateral entry admission to the second year of B.Tech courses. There are various colleges that accept NTTF diplomas. The official website of NTTF has a list of such institutes.
It depends on your career planning. If you are willing to pursue engineering, then a regular diploma with an above-average percentage would be a great option to go for. The estimated tuition charges would be on a lower end as well as it is a regular diploma. If your aim is to land a job as soon as your diploma is completed then it is suggested to opt for NTTF.
In a regular diploma course, there would be a little struggle in the beginning as the colleges do not provide any immediate placements or training programs. If you look into the future then this is a wise choice rather than the specially designed courses.
