Is it good to join an IIT which has no permanent campus like IIT Goa?
One of my friends chose another college over IIIT-D as the college back then was in its developing stage and was a new brand. The college was not established properly, the campus was under construction. The classes were taking place from the campus of NSIT-D. She didn’t have much idea about the IIIT brand name and chose to opt for a more established college.
However, during her four years at the institution, IIIT-D became established with an above-average placement rate. The takeaway from this experience is as follows.
- Brand name matters, even when it is a new institute.
- Do a little research on the faculty of the institute. All your academics depend on the faculty. (That’s something IIIT-D had in the above case).
- Go for the best options you can find in your rank. Always compare the options you are getting. Look for the best name, faculty, and other factors.
- If it’s a choice between the college and branch. Go for the branch because the branch will drive your future and your career.
These are a few of the things that you should keep in mind while making a decision.
Should I go for IIT Goa Electrical or NIT Kurukshetra CSE even though I have interest in CSE?
My uncle is a professor of Mathematics at IIT Delhi. According to him, one should prioritize the subject/ branch instead of the college while making such decisions.
You have an interest in CSE, as mentioned by you. In that case, you should go for the best college that is offering you CSE. An ‘IIT’ tag is definitely worthy and IITs have their own advantages. However, it will boil down to nothing if you have no interest in your branch.
But, I also wish to make it clear that NIT Kurukshetra does not offer CSE (Computer Science Engineering). Instead, it offers Computer Engineering (CE). The former revolves around Software, while the latter pays more attention to Hardware.
Try to find out more about CE, and then make your final decision. If you decide that CE is a better choice for you, go for NIT Kurukshetra. Otherwise, choose the other option.
You can also look for some other good colleges that offer CSE.
Which option is better IIT Goa CSE….liit Allahabad IT IIIT Delhi CSAM?
In my opinion, choosing IIIT Allahabad IT would be the wisest decision here. The institute is well-regarded for its excellent coding culture and top-notch placements. The table below will prove my point further
