Which is better, Shiv Nadar University (ECE or CSE branch), Dadri or PES University in Bangalore (ECE branch) in terms of faculty and mess placements?

The BTech program costs around 13.21 lakhs.

Which is better for a CSE, PES University or NIT Patna??
PES University is better for CSE in comparison to NIT Patna. PES has established a brand name over the years.
It offers better placement opportunities in comparison to NIT Patna. The college infrastructure, environment and other facilities are good. The administration is strict in certain manners, and the students are expected to fulfill the attendance criteria.
Though it is not very affordable, and the hostels aren’t top notch. But it offers good industry exposure, and the student crowd and faculty of this college is also good enough.
I would recommend PES for your CSE. However, I would also suggest you talk to some of the department seniors at both these colleges for better decision making.
Which is better for a CSE, PES University or NIT Patna?
Though both PES University and NIT Patna don’t have a sufficient reputation in the industry, NIT Patna can be a better choice because of the NIT tag. Having friends study in both the institutes, here are some things they mentioned -
- Choosing any institute, which is near to the home city, is better than choosing any of the two institutes mentioned.
- Both of the institutes are of below standard quality and have no reputation in the private industrial sector. This matters a lot in placement.
- NIT Patna offers some amount of placement, at least better than PES University. The only reason behind the cause is the NIT tag.
- PES University is not at all worth considering for an engineering degree in CSE.
- It even does not fulfill the criteria stated by them and is considered fraud in some reviews.

Which college is better for an MBA, AIMS Bangalore, or PES University?
Among these PES University is definitely better for an MBA. It offers better academics and placements. The recent placement highlights for PES University MBA shows the average package is around INR 3-4.8 LPA. Each year around 80% of students get placed. KPMG, Deloitte, ITC, Oracle, Amazon, etc. are some of the major recruiting companies for the institute.
Is it advisable to take ECE or mechanical in PES University besides having a mechanical seat in Amrita Bangalore ready?
PES University is undoubtedly better than Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore campus. The most important decision should be whether to take Mechanical engineering or ECE as both are different disciplines and unrelated to each other as well. The choice of your engineering branch should be based on your passion and interest as you would have to study it for 4 years and then do a job in the same field as well.

However, you should focus on gaining knowledge and that you can do at any university. But some university will help you more than other and that’s what makes PES University better than Amrita University, Bangalore campus.
How is the food at PES University?
The food facilities at PES University are not bad. Let me share my friend’s experience and provide you some details about the food at PES University.
- There are three messes available for students, namely, the Hotel mess, “Namdhari”, Food Point, and the Food Court.
- Moreover, there are various kinds of food available for the Northern people since they are mostly in the habit of preferring northern cuisine like chapatis in both lunch and dinner.
- Every other mess has similar kinds of chapatis, yet the side dishes vary from one mesh to another.
- However, the Food Court is the most preferred one, since you will then be responsible to pay only during buying an item.
- Most essentially, when discussing the two other messes, excluding the Food Court, they have mandated coupons of their own to avail for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a tea break in between course meals.
- But, for the Food Court, the system is quite different. You will be given coupons that are worth Rs. 4100 and you are only required to pay Rs. 10 to buy each.
- You can rather spend the amount in accordance with your everyday diet meal.
The food is quite expensive as well. For example, if you want South Indian cuisine, the hostel mess is pretty reasonable. While, for North Indian cuisine, it is “Namdhari.” You can also go outside of the campus to avail other food services. My friend studied and availed food from the hostel and says that it is not the best when compared to the other two.
When will I get my degree at PES University if I have a backlog of subjects in my final semester?
If you have a backlog in any subject in any semester, you have to clear it first. No Indian University can grant you a degree without clearing all your backlogs, even the private ones such as PES University.
- There is a system called Fast Track in which you can clear 2 backlogs of 4 credits each within two weeks after your final semester at PES University.
- If you still have more subjects or you could not clear them during the two-week window, you have to clear them within the summer term period.
- If you can clear all your backlogs before the summer term, you will get your degree with other students as usual.
Finally, these are still plug-in mechanisms. Try to avoid backlogs altogether if possible.
