Both Universities are good for mechanical engineering in terms of academics and placements. So, choose according to your convenience.
PES University is better for CSE in comparison to NIT Patna. PES has established a brand name over the years.
It offers better placement opportunities in comparison to NIT Patna. The college infrastructure, environment and other facilities are good. The administration is strict in certain manners, and the students are expected to fulfill the attendance criteria.
Though it is not very affordable, and the hostels aren’t top notch. But it offers good industry exposure, and the student crowd and faculty of this college is also good enough.
I would recommend PES for your CSE. However, I would also suggest you talk to some of the department seniors at both these colleges for better decision making.
Though both PES University and NIT Patna don’t have a sufficient reputation in the industry, NIT Patna can be a better choice because of the NIT tag. Having friends study in both the institutes, here are some things they mentioned -

So, these two institutes are not worth considering. There are several options for engineering aspirants in India like IITs, BITS, IIITs, and various other private institutes.
PES University is a private university and has been recognized by AIU, AICTE, and UGC. The college is ranked 93rd by NIRF for its B.Tech courses.
Admission Procedure: The college offers B.Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering as a 4-year course and the fees for the same is 13.21 lakhs for the full period.
Students seeking admission to ECE at PES must have scored 60% in their 10+2 examinations in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Eligible candidates are then selected on the basis of their scores in KCET (only for domicile students of Karnataka) or PESSAT, the common entrance examination of the college.
The college offers 360 seats for ECE.
Facilities:
The college is built over a large 25-acre campus. It is home to a handy library with a collection of e-journals, coursebooks, and e-books. The college has in-campus hostels for both boys and girls. The campus also has various sporting facilities such as cricket, football, and basketball. The college has a number of laboratories including ones dedicated to ECE. A number of other facilities such as cafeterias, a gym, medical facilities, and auditoriums are also available.
Placements:
CSE has an extremely high placement rate of 85%.
Top recruiters for the course include Microsoft, Cisco, TCS, Deloitte, and Accenture.
The average package offered for ECE students is 6 LPA while the highest package goes up to 48 LPA.
PES is well-known for its Bachelors in Technology courses which clearly reflects in its NIRF ranking. The college provides state-of-the-art facilities and an enhanced hands-on learning experience to its ECE students. The college also has a great return on investment rate as the course offers great placements post completion of the degree.
Among these PES University is definitely better for an MBA. It offers better academics and placements. The recent placement highlights for PES University MBA shows the average package is around INR 3-4.8 LPA. Each year around 80% of students get placed. KPMG, Deloitte, ITC, Oracle, Amazon, etc. are some of the major recruiting companies for the institute.
PES University is undoubtedly better than Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore campus. The most important decision should be whether to take Mechanical engineering or ECE as both are different disciplines and unrelated to each other as well. The choice of your engineering branch should be based on your passion and interest as you would have to study it for 4 years and then do a job in the same field as well.
After that, comes the college. These are some of the parameters on which you can compare the two universities.
Here is a brief overview of the recent placement highlights at the institutes.

However, you should focus on gaining knowledge and that you can do at any university. But some university will help you more than other and that’s what makes PES University better than Amrita University, Bangalore campus.
The food facilities at PES University are not bad. Let me share my friend’s experience and provide you some details about the food at PES University.
The food is quite expensive as well. For example, if you want South Indian cuisine, the hostel mess is pretty reasonable. While, for North Indian cuisine, it is “Namdhari.” You can also go outside of the campus to avail other food services. My friend studied and availed food from the hostel and says that it is not the best when compared to the other two.
If you have a backlog in any subject in any semester, you have to clear it first. No Indian University can grant you a degree without clearing all your backlogs, even the private ones such as PES University.
Finally, these are still plug-in mechanisms. Try to avoid backlogs altogether if possible.
