Does BHU conduct their own entrance exam for MBA?

AD
Ananya Dasgupta Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at IIT BHU (2019)

The “Institute of Management Studies” which was previously known as FMS, or Faculty of Management Studies, and a “Faculty of Commerce”, offers MBA with different specializations.

  • Appearing in CAT exams is mandatory for candidates if they want to get admission in the Institute of Management Studies, BHU.
  • The institute takes the scores of CAT exams into consideration in order to shortlist the ones who meet the criteria for admission.
  • MBA and MBA in International Business are two of the flagship courses offered by BHU.
  • BHU conducts its own entrance exams called PET in the month of May for admission in the Faculty of Commerce.
  • For various reasons, an MBA from the Institute of Management Studies is better than an MBA from the Faculty of Commerce.

MBA in Agribusiness is affiliated with IM-BHU or the Institute of Management Studies but it runs in the south campus of BHU which is in Barkachha. Candidates have to appear for the PET entrance exam for admission.

I scored 90% in 10th and 70% in 12th. I am a B.Com graduate. Should I go for FMS-Delhi/BHU and prepare for the CAT?

DS
Deeksha Seth Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at XLRI Jamshedpur (2019)

From what I have heard from a professor of mine, FMS Delhi is one of the top B-schools in the country.

  • The institute provides a very good ROI which puts the institute high in the ROI rankings.
  • FMS Delhi is worth your time and money and given the scores, you have obtained you might also end up getting called from reputed institutes like MDI, IIFT, SIBM, XLRI, etc.
  • The score in your CAT exams should compensate for your academics.
  • FMS has a very high weightage to your CAT score.

Try to obtain the maximum percentile in CAT and a good score in the verbal section. If you perform well in the interview, it will put you in the driver’s seat for a final convert.

Does BHU offer admission only to Hindus?

Pranjal Sapra Posted On : April 3rd, 2024

For years, there's been a doubt lingering among Indian students. Is BHU for Hindus and AMU for Muslims? Though both universities might include Hindu and Muslim in their names, they welcome students from all walks of life. Candidates belonging to any caste and religion can pursue higher education in BHU.

The university was solely established to promote learning and research generally in Arts and Sciences in all branches and to advance and diffuse such scientific, technical, and professional knowledge, combined with the necessary practical training to promote indigenous industries and to develop the material resources of the country. Moreover, the university also reserves seats for certain minority-category students.
