Does NALSAR offer a 3 yr LLB degree?

S
Soham Posted On : July 29th, 2024
BA LLB (Hons.) student at Nalsar

No, NALSAR UOL does not offer a 3-year LLB program because of the following reasons:

  • Most of the top NLUs in India offer a 5-year integrated BA LLB instead of a separate LLB program.
  • The benchmark for legal education in India is a five-year integrated law curriculum, according to the criteria established by the Bar Council of India.
  • The goal of the five-year BA LLB program is to offer a thorough legal knowledge that integrates legal theory and practice. The last few semesters focus on seminar courses.
  • Law firms, corporate legal departments, and other organisations frequently give preference to graduates of five-year integrated programs since it indicates a deeper legal education than a three-year LLB program.

Even though NALSAR does not offer an LLB program, here are some of the top NLUs that provide this degree- NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Odisha. You can get admission into either of them with a good CLAT score.
